My Generation

My generation is slowly withering away.
Kids getting into fights at school, or getting shot on the street.
When my generation sees a fight they would rather pull out their phones and press record,
Rather than step in and tell them it’s not worth it.
Using technology that didn’t even exist ten years ago like it does now.
My generation has young girls walking around with barely anything covering them,
And young boys walking around with their pants below their butt.
My generation would rather get four years in jail than have a four year degree.
My generation is slowly falling apart.
My generation doesn’t care if they go to church on Sunday,
They don’t care if they pray and thank God for what he has given them.
My generation would rather stay up late on Saturday nights partying and drinking,
Instead of go home and study for their test they have in class the next Monday.
They would rather put a joint to their mouth,
Than drink a communion at church.
My generation would rather blame their problems on the people around them,
discrimination and race,
Rather than take responsibility for their actions.
My generation plays victim for every temptation,
But instead of learning from it as a mistake, they would repeat it over and over again.
My generation would rather say they have “hoes” than to take the time to get to know someone honestly.
My generation would rather compare its life to others than to take charge and change their own.
My generation can be so much more.
My generation has hard work dedication and integrity.
My generation has to learn to love each other,
They have to learn to encourage each other so that they don’t feel like they are on their own all of the time.
My generation can own up and create a legacy that has never been seen before.
My generation can set scores on test that have never been as high.
My generation can become the best scientist the world has yet to know.
My generation can be the doctor who finds a cure to some of the most deadly viruses around.
My generation can be the one that has yet to be known as the greatest.
My generation could have had the best cartoons, music, and technology,
But that wouldn’t be recognized because of all of the curse words being thrown into them.
My generation has been blessed with the best technology known to mankind, but they use it for all of the wrong things.
My generation can be so much more, if everyone just appreciated it, and used it for the right things.
My generation is intelligent, brave, and is full of leaders,
But that wouldn’t be known because those characteristics are used in all the wrong ways.
My generation needs to come together and realize that we can all be leaders
My generation needs to get together and walk as one because it is no longer MY generation, but OUR generation.
