Pine Street Inn
I found Tess Ross- Callahan’s article, Pine Street Inn, extremely moving. By the way she described the shelter using vivid imagery and elaborate metaphors, I felt as it was there myself. She depicted the blankets the men had to sleep with as “the kind of blankets they give you on airplanes, roughly made and in the worst shade of beige” and penned words such as “numberless” and “identity” thus making me feel sympathetic towards the men at the shelter. In fact, this article has inspired me to volunteer more as well as be grateful for the home that I have. Therefore, I'd like to thank Tess for my motivating me to “Give what [I] can”; you are a phenomenal writer and I hope to read more from you soon.
