My Name
In Latin, my name means of the sea or little Mary. It is like a rainbow, but with imperfections; a rainbow that is hard compared to one that is bright. Like listening to an upbeat song with meaningful lyrics.
My grandma has the middle name Mae, and now it is mine. Mae means Mary, like my first name Marissa. I was given the first name, Marissa, by my parents. They wanted a name that rhymed with my middle name, Mae; like the phrases in the books of Dr. Seuss. Marissa Mae.
Those with the name Marissa become lost when others aren’t pleased; eager, which leads to withdrawing from family and friends. A daydreamer, hypersensitive, emotional, dependent, selfless, and intuitive person.
Marissa tends to seek solace in her dreams and thoughts to escape reality. Fond of mystery; the unusual, and lives for the sounds of music, but adores love; a softie.
I would not like to change my name because even though the meaning itself may not exactly sound like me, the types of characteristics, interests, and hobbies are very similar to mine: hypersensitive, emotional, dependent, selfless, intuitive, seeks solace, and lives for music. The name, Marissa, is perfect for me.
