The Day
I was walking around New York City on my way to Wall Street to go to work. It was a half sunny, half cloudy day with a very fresh temperature. Pretty good day after all the gruesome, sweaty, and hot days. But I’m not gonna talk about this all day, I’m just an average New York businessman. I walk in and the first thing I hear is “ HEYYY DAVID. “ with some depression in my coworkers’ tones. I just do not know people don’t like me! Is it because I look weird, dress weird, brag about my paycheck? I don’t know. But I do know that I’m going to Las Vegas baby! This is the life! Fast forward and I’m on the plane and there isn’t too many people on board the plane which is pretty surprising. Why would so little people even be on the plane? There should be more! But anyways, being a long flight, I was getting pretty hungry, so I had a salad which had some weird looking things I have never seen before, but I ate it anyway. Also, the flight attendant handed me the salad with a familiar smile, like the smile of a baby that went numero dos on himself. Oh and the pilot’s name is Lucifer which definitely didn’t creep me out of my pants at all. But anyways, I hear “ Lucifer “, say that we’re going to descend. A few minutes pass by and I touch Las Vegas. Finally! But everybody looks so peculiar. I couldn’t believe how unique Las Vegas is! I felt a tap on my shoulder and it was “ Lucifer “ and he quickly took me to a secret room and tells me with an echoey voice, like if we were gonna record the one - hit wonder of the century.
“ From now on, you’re not David. Your name is Death. You are gonna take this scythe, and slash it on real people, not spirits. Those spirits are gone from the real world. The real people won’t see or feel you, so you’ll be unnoticed. You are dead now. Just do what I say and you’ll be fine. “ Number one: OH. MY. GOSH. Number Two: How did he even know who I was? But anyways, I couldn’t believe it. I’m Death AND I’m dead now. This is just wonderful news. So I nervously took my pretty cool looking scythe and stared at it for a while, simply contemplating. After a few minutes of trying to remember what just happened, I see a real person walk right by me. With all my MUSCLES, I sliced the person right through their stomach. But nothing happened and the person seemed unharmed. Right before I ran away, the person fell to the ground and died. And I NO LIE, saw the person’s GHOST rise in the air, and stare at their OWN BODY. I tried to calm everyone down, but nobody could see or hear me. This is clearly the life I said it was. I took my scythe, and as soon as the tip of it was going to puncture the center of my chest, I woke up, in a box, and underground. Well looks like this so called “Death” is now dead.
