Z Wars

I walk through the forest looking for a place to stay for the shelter, maybe food and ammo, I'm running low on ammo so I could stalk up. I spotted a zombie, but it didn't notice me. I took out my gun, pointed it at them and pulled the trigger. As soon as I shot, birds flew out from the trees. I need a silencer for my gun. At this rate, I’ll be swarmed with zombies and killed.

I resume walking and stumble upon a two-story house. Thank the lord, I’m starving. I softly walked up to the door and banged on it listening for movement. I heard shuffling from inside and backed away. I cocked my gun and waited, suddenly a huge group of zombies came out. Once I started shooting, more came.

"Where are they coming from?" I mumble to myself.

I start shooting more and more then I ran out of ammo. I throw my gun on the ground and pull off my shirt to reveal my knife vest. This is my father’s knife set and I only used it under dangerous circumstances, I believe this is dangerous enough. I started throwing knives but the zombies came at me, overwhelming me and causing me to miss and stumble back.

I realized they had backed me all the way to the edge of a cliff. I keep throwing knives anxiously, soon I run out and they had me trapped. I realized that there was no way of getting out of this situation unless by a grace of God. I looked over my shoulder and saw the ground far below me. So I close my eyes and let myself free fall. I felt the wind through my fingertips, the rush of falling, a second of pain and then it was gone.

White was all I could see. It was like an endless hallway in every direction. I looked around and saw a silhouette of a man. I walked over and tapped them on the shoulder. Once they completely faced me my heart sank.

"Travis?" I asked.

"Brooke?" he asks just as shocked as me and pulls me in for a warm embrace.

"I thought you were still in the apocalypse?" he says, pulling back from the hug.

"Jumped off a cliff,"

"Did you commit suicide?"

"No, the zombies had me surrounded and I ran out of ammo and knives,"

"So where are we exactly?” I asked liking around the brilliantly white room, it looks like the halls could go on forever in any direction.

“The End,” he says.

"The End? So this is it? No Heaven?" I questioned once again.

"There's no heaven, it's just this, our souls are free to do as they please now," he answers.

"Wow, I like it. Very tranquil," I say. He grabs my hand and we start walking.

"You know I missed you, right?" he asks.

"I know," I say jokingly looking over at him.

"I love you," I say and side hug him. He turns to me.

"I love you too, I’m so proud of you for making it this far on your own," he says.
