Ocean Crying
I sit down on the wet sand. My toes touching the water. My favorite place. I couldn't help but think of him every time my eyes met the ocean's horizon. His eyes are ocean blue and beg me to go deeper than the shore. I must cooperate.
He calls to me and I swim farther into the sea but where the ground beneath me is still visible, and the ocean water is still clear, I begin to notice the Cozumel waters. Where the fish swam freely showing off their beautiful colors. Yellow, green, red, blue, purple fishes circle one another as if playing a youthful game of tag. Shimmering in the reflection of the evening sun.
Suddenly my mind takes me back to him. Was it the fishes socialization that reminded me of his benevolent manner? The horizon calls me deeper...there's something he wants me to see, desperately. I continue plunging into the deep blue. Dark dark darker, darker than the night, miles and miles of nothing. Suddenly an incandescent light grabs my attention, remarkably a glowing fish approaches me like it was an old friend. Rainbow from scale to scale welcoming me with open fins.
For once I didn't feel as though I was just being reminded of him. It felt like i was looking right at him, finally understanding him. Those blue ocean eyes. I want to take him back with me, but I know he has to stay. My tears became the ocean as I wept in pain. “I love him” I thought, “I love you!” I say. Those blue eyes, those ocean blue eyes, he looks at me with such yearning, and his tears became the ocean too.
My favorite place to be. With him, because I love him. Now i can see...he loves me too.
