a self help book written by someone else is just help

As he walked across the dead silence of night, he could feel the rotting anger of the bleached bones. As he looked to the moon, dancing amongst the clouds of night, he began to sing in a beautiful voice, much like that of a child's. “Deliver me o lord, from eternal death on that awful day when the heavens and earth shall be shaken.”

The bones sang back like a choir their longing for life and anger at death abandoned and forgotten as his pure voice washed over their tombs.

“And you shall come to judge the world by fire.”

Silver pearl tears slid down his lovely face for his loyal soldiers, the French, the British, the Irish and German, all who had fallen for him.

“I am seized with fear and trembling until the trial is at hand and the wrath to come: when the heavens and earth shall be shaken.”

Tears welled in his eyes,”i am the king of war” he said,as the souls of his unfortunate soldiers enveloped him to bring him peace, they laughed like summer wind as he drifted with them up staircase to eternity with his singing souls

“And i am king no more.”

“This excerpt was written fifty years after the six worlds war for the late king Jacob.”

My New Albion lit professor said, drawing me from my trance, the words evoked  such sadness it nearly made me cry, nearly.

“At this time in history King Jacob ruled our nation of nations. He was a very calm soul and a peace loving man with an almost motherly persona that he most certainly got from his mother Leto.”whether it was little children or entire kingdoms he was always ‘cuddling’ someone.”

I had never heard of such a ruler, one who looked out over their kingdom with a kind, sweet face. All the queens i had ever seen were so stone faced and strong voiced, never gentle.

“He was also the kind of person who upon meeting someone would immediately pull them into a hug and melt the hearts of even the most aggressive politicians.”

She added with a laugh, drawing a few good natured chuckles from the girls across the classroom.

“Unless it were the saxons”

She added with a somber tone in her voice.

“They were the reason for one of the six wars referred to in this excerpt… for someone so pure and kind to see such violence and death, it drove him mad with sorrow.” said my professor instilling silence like a funeral into the class.

Ever since then i wondered ‘what would it be like to know such a man?’
