Mirror Shards
In a tall castle, on the mountains by the sea, there was a queen, and her story goes as follows:
One day, the queen decided to look in a mirror, for she had never before and wanted to see what she looked like. She glanced at the mirror in her hands and quickly looked away. She looked again, then threw the mirror to the floor, repulsed by what she had seen. “Servant!” she called “Bring me another mirror. This one doesn’t seem to be working properly.” She collapsed onto a chair in disbelief. Surely that wasn’t what I look like. She thought to herself. I can’t truly be that grotesque. Just then, the servant appeared with another mirror. The queen snatched the mirror from his hands like it was food and she was a starving dog. The servant scurried away and the queen, once again, looked at herself in the mirror. “No! No! No!” she screamed in frustration. Perhaps if I cut my hair. She thought as she procured a knife. She cut of a tuft a hair and left a thin, red cut on her jaw. She tried again, this time removing a single strand of hair and leaving a gash on her cheek. Again, and again, she tried to cut her hair until her face was mangled and covered in blood. Tears started streaming down her cheeks and she fell onto the floor. The broken mirror shards dug into her palms, causing more pain. A scream of agony left her lips and floated through the castle. The servant came in and carried the queen to her bedroom and left her to calm down and rest. He then ran to the room where the fiasco occurred and swept away the mirror shards. Little did he know that some of those shards flew out the window on gust of wind and settled onto Earth. The shards fell on many girls and boys, making them feel the same way as the queen.

This story was inspired by how many people don't like the way that they look and try to change themselves, but fail indoing so. They only succeed in hurting themselves and sometimes others.
