My Modest Proposal

The reality of life on the road today is that drivers can be killed at any second by someone who is complete drunk. There have been attempts to rectify this problem, however, hundreds of people die every day because of drunk driver. This is causes huge problems and is unacceptable.
I think that everyone can agree that this problem is something that must end. Despite this belief, it has proved quite difficult to stop this from occurring. I have pondered this idea and I have decided that there is only one solution to drunk driving. We must allow people who want to drive drunk to do so. If the authorities don’t stop drunk drivers, then they will be killed off in a crash rather than endangering thousands of other drivers. There will be nobody left to drive drunk. As a result, they will die quickly, and the danger of drunk driving will no longer be a feasible fear
There are many reasons why this is a good idea:
Firstly, the drunk drivers will not follow the law anyway, so if we allow them to drive drunk, then they will most likely be killed off quite quickly and they will no longer be breaking any laws.
Secondly, protects future generations from the dangers of drunk drivers. If this is taken care of now, the future generations are protected from drunk drivers
Thirdly, not only with this help save lives, but also it will save money used to pay those who must respond to and rescue the victims. In the future, there won’t be wreck from drunk drivers, so the paramedics will have less calls to respond to which will save money.
Fourthly, this will decrease the amount of publicly drunken people. This will create a more pleasant and civilized society to live in.
Fifthly, the wrecks will provide scraps which can be sold by the victim’s family which will help them economically. The money can be put to any use in any way that the family desires.
Sixthly, the bodies can be used for organ donations which can save lives. Thousands of people need vital organ donations and the organs can be provided by the bodies of the drivers. Not only will the lives be saved by no more drunk drivers, but the bodies of the drunk drives that will die, will be used for vital organ donations that will save lives.
Now, I understand that there may be some opposition to this. Those who disagree will say that this will cause problems because until the drunk drivers have been killed off and the danger on the road will increase by quite a bit for a while. However, I would argue that there is already such a large chance of death on the road, that this will not cause too large of an increase percentage wise. And, after the drink drivers are gone, thee roads will be much safer. Therefore, the net effect will counteract the temporary danger posed by this proposition.
Overall, I think that this plan will save lives by putting an end to drunk driving in a way that is beneficial to the community.

Reflection: I came up with my proposal by writing down a bunch of problems that the world is facing today. Then, I came up with outrageous solutions for each of them. I decided that the drunk driving one would be best suited to by my ideas and parameters. Next, I came up with six ways this could benefit people or the community. Finally, I found a reasonable objection to my idea and made it sound outlandish, discrediting the argument. Throughout the writing, I tried to model the writing style and tone that is in A Modest Proposal by Swift.
