My Modest Proposal
For preventing criminals and regular citizens throughout the world from not abiding by the law and disrupting the livelihood of good Samaritans.
Crime is an issue that no good Samaritan wants to deal with nor be a part of. In all parts of the world, especially densely populated areas such as large cities theft, murder, and other illegal activities are a reality. Crime is a broad term but anything from going 50 in a 45 to a triple homicide is technically a crime. Obviously, there is no practical solution when it comes to making every person follow the law like robots. Although... in today's day and age there is a technological solution to almost everything.
Crime is an issue that doesn't seem to be going away any time soon, but... I have a solution. In order to make everyone follow the law and do the right thing, we must utilize a revolutionary piece of technology. That revolutionary piece of technology I have in mind is a Brain Microchip. This microchip will be able to revolutionize the safety and well-being of people around the world. At birth, each child will have a minuscule chip inserted into their brain that will reroute the human's brain to do what is best for the city, to do what is best for the country, and to do what is best for the world. Simply, by rerouting the inner workings of their brain as a child to abide by the law.
I think the advantages by the proposal which I have made are obvious and many, as well as of the highest importance. Firstly, it will make your trip to the supermarket a walk in the park. Depending on the area in which you are doing your grocery shopping, being robbed while on your way home is a very real possibility. Going outside will no longer be a risk to your safety due to this revolutionary microchip. Secondly, gunfights in poverty driven cities will no longer be of concern because the people of the cities mind have been rerouted to not even think of murder. Thirdly, it will make law enforcement’s job easier and essentially effortless. Fourthly, all countries will be allies and all business and trade between countries will be in the best interest of each of the involved countries economic situation. Fifthly, freak accidents such as car crashes will be minimized significantly due to the 0% chance of an individual disobeying the law by speeding or using their device while driving. Sixthly, these Brain microchips will allow for an easy, practical, cost-effective, valuable way to stop crime throughout the world.
As far as objections against my foolproof proposal, I can think of one. That would be that one may fear of the world being overrun by technology or will "turn humans into robots". My counterargument to that would be, its better safe than sorry. A world that abides by what is right is a perfect world. After all, I have one intention with this proposal, and that is to make the world a better and safer place to live. Although, before one may object against this proposal they must compose an idea or method that is equally practical to mine. I have no intention in numbing the minds of humanity and creating a "robot culture" if you will.

I came up with this idea by brainstorming problems recently that have affected our world. One of the issues that stood out to me was crime. Crime and Illegal activity is an immediate concept that comes to mind when I think of problems in my community which inspired me to create this completely impractical "modest" proposal. Swift's satirical way of presenting his proposal was an effective and comedic way of pointing out an issue he saw, and I attempted to model my modest proposal off that same method.
