I woke up in the middle of the night. I heard weird mumbling around. I didn't recognize the voice of the people around me. I tried to open my eyes but they felt as though they were glued shut. I told myself it was just a dream. I felt like my body was asleep but I wasn't. I couldn't move, I couldn't see. I could barely hear. Almost like I was in a dark soundproof box tied to the floor. As reality set in I started to panic. I wasn't home in my bed where I was supposed to be. I was missing. I started to wonder, does my family know, are they looking for me. Am I just confused? Hours of hopeless and confused thinking went by. I could see again, I could hear more than before. Where am I? Am I ok? Does my family know? Those are the only thoughts that filled my head. I'm trying to move, trying to scream for help, but I'm in agonizing pain. Am I dead? I've thought about what has happened to me every day since I got away wondering, why me? What did I do so wrong?
