My Dearest, Genevieve,

I wish that this letter finds you in safety.

Though I shall not return for many moons.

Evaline is still after me and I have proof this time.

The morning before last I awoke to claw marks across my chest.

These are from Evaline.

No doubt in my mind that it is.

I have been to many medics but they have not believed me my dear.

They say I am ill in the head,

I have been dismissed to mend my mind

My love, how are our children? Are they ill?

Tell them that their father loves and misses them.

How are things in the village? Are the other folk whispering about me as I have left?

I do not know how far I have gone by foot out of village

But, I am under the impression that I am many days away from you

I have come across a small town where I will stay for the night.

This night I know not where I am or the name of the town

These residents here seem to be quite kind.

They all look at me as if I was ill in the head.

Whispering about me.

They are the ones who are lost-

they don't understand.

No one is safe here.

Evaline,

You take up too much space in this head of mine, I need you gone.

I lose too much time with you here.

My own name can’t be remembered for God’s sake.

I am begging you Evaline, leave my wife and I alone.

I can’t handle this anymore.

Your figure can’t be seen, why do you hide from me?

I wish to know you so I can get rid of your demonic presence.

Why can’t you just leave, you terrify me so.

-William

This piece was inspired by the way it feels in my own mind. William had been constantly running from his issues and send letters to his wife Genevieve, he constantly talks about Evaline who is a hallucination that he has created.
