Once Upon A Time
Once upon a time
There was a perfect bride
A storybook, fairytale wedding
A veil covered in flowers hid the tears on her face
She never wanted to even get engaged
But everyone knows even if no one tells, that she's been growing and getting weird cravings
But only she knows even if she never says
She found out in December and the tears froze on her face
Once upon a time
There was a perfect groom
A storybook, fairytale, love story
A ring on her finger held his secrets away
His plan was always to get engaged
But nobody knows, and he'll never tell, the secrets of where he's put his hands
But everybody knows, and everybody says, how happy he is to get married
A beautiful child brought into this world
But that innocent girl would soon grow up and wonder
Why mommy always said purple was ugly, and why daddy would always by her so much concealer
Once upon a time
Once upon a time
Once upon a time
There was a daughter who grew up knowing something was wrong
Knowing her daddy always came back angry
A girl, at age eleven, who even then knew
Her family was wrong, not anything like the others
Once upon a time, once upon a time
This story took place, but nineteen years ago
At age fourteeen the daughter did know, her mom was too young, and dad too old
She should have been placed on such a different path
Once upon a time, once upon a time
She was sixteen, and by now she'd learned from ma how to cover up bruises
She'd learn to lie and avoid the pool
Once upon a time, in a different mind
Mom knew how to keep a secret, but so did little Susie. At age seventeen, she let loose fifteen rats
One for every year she knew
And her pa never suspected when he drank his morning coffee
That maybe the rats weren't the only thing she'd poison
Once upon a time, once upon a time. Little Suzie is grown up, and lives with her ma.
She grows and she grows and never regrets
The moment her dad took her last breaths
