Shawn dies
Doctors surrounded him, trying to save Shawn’s life as his breath labored. Pain burned inside his chest, the cancer eating at his vigor. His eyes closed and the antiseptic tint of the hospital faded into rose and lilac, the aroma of romance and joy.
A blurry silhouette approached, sharpening into his wife who passed away in a car crash one year ago. With her windswept hair and hazel eyes, she still looked the same but freed from the burden of time. He held her hand, and his breath caught in his throat. The burning pain ceased. Finally reunited with his Charlotte.
