“I can take it.” He hits me. I look in his eyes. Anger, frustration, evil.
He hits me again. He’s mad that I’m silent. He wants me to cry.
Third time's a charm, he hits me once more. My tears won’t shed for him.
But then again, I’m the one with the knife.
“Bye, hubby.”
