Wonder
I wonder what it would be like to not be hungry, to eat and eat until I was completely full, until my stomach didn’t ache anymore. I wonder what it would be like to know how to read. To look at all those strange symbols and make some sort of sense of it all. I wonder what new clothes would feel like, made of material thick enough that it wouldn’t wear away between my fingertips. I wonder how it would be like to sleep inside, with a roof over my body, to not be woken by animals or the rain. I wonder what it would be like to go to school or even to ride on a bus. I wonder. Maybe one day I’ll be lucky and one of these things might happen to me. I would be in heaven. It would only take one little thing.
