A Confused Textbook
It’s so hot.
I don’t remember it being this hot.
I’m new here, I come from another classroom and it wasn’t as hot in there. I liked it better.
Why did somebody lay me here? I feel like I might melt!
Can I melt? Hmm, maybe my cover can. But my insides are made of paper so I will probably burn.
I don’t want to burn!!!
What is this thing, anyways? It’s blowing out hot air. Sometimes I wish I were human so I’d know these things.
Uh oh, someone is picking me up…
Ooh! Now I feel better, no more heat.
Ahh- HAHAHAHA! That tickles! Someone is turning my pages! Oh thank goodness, they stopped.
Now they are leaning their arm on me so I don’t close. Ouch.
Why are people using me? What’s in me that people want to know so much?
I wish I knew.

I wrote this during my chemistry class last year when I found staring blankly at a textbook more fun than paying attention to the lesson.
