Down to Earth
“Is there anybody there?”
Asked the traveller
As he promptly and profoundly cursed under his breath
As the Moon seemed gone
And he was partially blind
There was no way for the traveller to see where he was going
Or who was coming to him
Slowly, silently, silver, with white breasts peeping
A peculiar woman walked through the forest, looking at a dirty newspaper upside down, seeming as though she couldn’t read at all
But very very interested
She walked so silently the man did not sense her until she walked past him and he felt cold
“Ill shoot you! Where are ye going?!”
The women’s eyes, pale pale blue said to his lame ones-“The question is not where I am going, but where I have been.”
