There was once a kid named Andre that lived in Harlem, New York and he was the greatest street ball player to ever play. Andre did not live in a very good neighborhood and the house smelled like a dump. He and his mom were very poor people. His mom was depressed every day because her husband died from drug abuse. Her husband was a good college basketball player but he was cut from the team because he was caught doing drugs then a couple months later he died. She was so depressed she didn't even talk to her own son any more. His mom always laid down on the couch like if she was glued onto it. She didn't even get food for herself so Andre always had to bring it to her. He had to take care of her so much he had to drop out of high school just to take care of her.
So one day Andre went to go play some ball with his friends. So they were shooting around, playing 1-1, 3 point contest, dunk contest, scrimmage, etc. But one of his friends made a bet with him and said.
“If you could the 10 dollars that are in my hand you could keep it.
Andre said “ok”
“But there's a catch”
Two of his other friends helpt him up like if he was there king, to the top of the backboard and put the money on top of their.
“Now can you get it”
Andre said confidently “yes i can”
So while Andre was about to jump a high school basketball coach from the harlem renaissance high school. The coach saw andrea jump like he was going to the moon. Andre got the money and his friends were astonished. The coach came out of his car and ran to andrea before he left. The coach went to Andre and said
“Son how would you like to play for the high school varsity basketball team.”
Andre didn't know what to say he thought that he was never going to have a career in basketball.
“Yes” said Andre with a big smile on his face.
“Ok then practice tomorrow 6:30-9:00, and don't be late.”
So the coach walked away back to his car and Andre went back to his neighborhood with his friends.
Three months passed and Andre was becoming a superstar in high school. On day Andre had a game at madison square garden in new york. But before the game stated their was a nba player there and his name was Kareem-Abdul-Jabbar. And when the game went on and a reporter went and ask kareem and asked him
“How do you think of this kid”
Kareem said “this kid has some talent, and i'm very impressed, i think one day this kid could play in the NBA. ”
Andre heard the news that one of the greatest nba players of all time said that he  could become a nba player. Andre was surprised that he said that. He never thought a real nba player would say that about him.
One week later Andre went to his friends house just to go hang out. But this friend did drugs and the day andrea went to his house his friend convinced him to try some.
“Come on man this stuff good it won’t do anything bad to you”
“Nah i can’t man, i heard what that stuff does to you”
“Come on just try a little bit of it”
Andre said “alright just a little”
After Andre took a little bit he liked it and said “do you have more.” 3 months later andrea whole entire life went downhill. His mom died from died from depression, he was cut from the basketball team,he also lost his home and went homeless. A week later andrea died from heart failure and never fulfilled his dream because of drugs.
