Favorite Place To Be
The mattresses are littered everywhere with beautiful glass panes replacing the walls behind them and onlooking the city. Each bed is softer than the one before; each with new unthinkable improvements compared to the previous. Not a single person is in sight and the AC is on just the perfect temperature- cold enough to ease the sweat, yet comforting enough to sleep without a blanket. The lights are adjusted to a soft glow, obviously to endure the shoppers into a nap with each bed they try. The satisfying scent of new mattresses clung to the air, filling anybody’s nose with overwhelming joy.
There is one bed, the softest in the place that is positioned correctly in front of the window to get the entire city below in view. The bed has adjusting settings to assure the appropriate position when doing bed-ly activities. It is smooth to the touch: when running a hand over it, there aren’t any crinkles, indents or any type of loose fuzz to harshly rub up against. It’s all velvety smooth. The Bed of the heavens is secluded in a corner and at night the city lights pour through, each individual wave of light more mesmerizing than the last. And while the other beds bring a cold, strictly-business attitude, The Bed welcomes any guest with a home sensation, as if it was where they belong.

I was asked to write about my favorite place to be, and while it may not be a beach with the waves hitting the sand, or even some extravagant place like Paris, it is where I find peace. Although a mattress firm might seem like an odd place to be at peace, it’s good enough for me.
