Light
The ladder sat there. Its red paint slowly chipping off. The ladder's wooden steps were starting to green with mold. A pair of black shoes climbed up the ladder, brushing of themselves of when they got to the top. The shoes stepped into the dusty attic, pulled the chain and watched as the light-bulb that lit the room flickered on. The black shoes calmly stood there as the light-bulb shattered and a tiny glowing man stepped out. The glowing man's light dimmed as he closed his eyes and fell with a thump onto the dusty floor.
The black shoes thought "at least these glowing men are replaceable" and the shoes crushed the body of the glowing man. The shoes hopped over to a drawer and pulled out another glowing man and carefully placed him inside another light bulb.
