A young Latina
Seven-teen year old Stephanie could only think a few words about her life; crap, crap, crap! She was born into a poor Latino family living in a small, crummy apartment in a barrio side of town, where the graffiti was everywhere. Her father was an alcoholic, gambler, and wife beater.
Yup, her life was nothing but crap. She hadn’t even started high school yet because she was in the summer break from her 8th grade.
Her family would shoot, do drugs in front of her. Her younger sister, age fourteen, trying to get married. He is nineteen year old gangster guy, from the same hood, with one child.
Stephanie attempts to get through it all. She was a smart young girl struggling to survive her life. Her life was filled with pain, every day she had to go through it; would be the same every single day.
She can’t walk on the street alone without seeing old men looking at her and inviting her to their houses. Stephanie had bigger dreams then staying in her, hood. She wanted to be better then a drug addict and alcoholic like her both parents, or like her younger sister being with older men and getting pregnant.
Stephanie has bigger dreams. Her dreams were to get to high school, get to college and become a cop so she could arrest the bad people like her parents, and people that would be killing other people in the streets.
Stephanie wanted a better future for her and her sister but her sister wouldn’t care. Stephanie moved on because she wasn’t going to stay if her sister didn’t want to go with her. She wasn’t going to ruin her life for her, she was looking after herself only because she knew she wasn’t goanna change her sister mind.
Then time passed she became a successful girl, already finished high school, got her diploma and she was getting ready for college to make her dreams come true. Stephanie went back to her old hood to look for her sister, and try to convince her sister to move in together to a better place. They can be safe and would have a better life together.
She’s a poor Latina that she wanted to be successful in life and she didn’t only think about herself, she thought about her sister and nephew future.
The same day she got to her sister’s apartment Stephanie, her younger sister, and her sister’s boyfriend got into a deep argument. This ended Stephanie furiously walking outside her house, as she began to walk across the street her younger sister’s boyfriend shoat her in the back three times. She passed away.
Stephanie was a young Latina that all she wanted was to accomplish her dreams and give her sister and nephew a bright future.
