Stay beautiful, keep it ugly.

Mary Willis was proudly married to George Willis. Or so she thought on the day of their wedding. They had been married for 10 years, and Mary was beginning to feel things were starting to crumble just bit. George had been spending an awful amount of time in his study, and in the garage. She was barely getting anything from him.

She began to believe that her husband was having an affair. He would go on business trips and leave for days at a time. He would always be on his phone, talking to someone. He would constantly check his email for new emails, and Mary was just about tired of his distant nature.

She decided to look around his office while he was gone. He left Wednesday morning and told Mary that he would be back Sunday night. That gave her plenty of time to snoop. She called her best friend, and partner of crime, Wendy, and told her to come over.

Wendy was a single woman, by choice. Many would refer her to a cougar. Mary would refer to her as free. Wendy would dress in the most revealing clothes, have one night stands with men, and sometimes women, and then leave the next day. She lived by herself with her cat, Pacho, and had an online store called Whips and Fantasies.

Wendy probably seemed like a crazy individual, but she was a person of gold at heart.

Wendy squealed when Mary had called her, and rushed over.

“‘Bout time you see things my way. Guys are just usin’ ya. That’s what my momma used to say, an’ she was right,” Wendy said, as soon as she stepped through the threshold of the door.

Mary smiled and hugged her friend warmly. “Good to see you, Wendy. You dyed your hair again,” Mary commented, a smile still on her face.

“Oh, yeah. Felt like bein’ a blonde again. Always gets the boys,” She said, shimmying.

Mary let out a laugh. “Come to the kitchen for me, I made us snacks. I’ll tell you all about what has been going on,” she said, walking into her kitchen.

Once Mary had finished her story, all the food had been finished, and they were ready to go investigating. Mary opened the door to her husbands office, and turned the light on. It had been a while since she had actually been in here, and it had changed drastically.

Wendy put a hand over her heart. “Oh my,” she said looking around.

Mary looked around with confused eyes scanning everything. Everywhere, on the walls. There were pictures of people. And not just any people.

“Those pictures are of the victims on the news!” Wendy breathed. And she was right.

“Why would these be in here,” Mary asked, though her mind already knew what was wrong.

Her husband was a murderer.

A cold blooded murderer.

Mary walked over to his desk and started to read a piece of paper. It was talking about her.

“He… He was going to kill me,” Mary said, her back to Wendy.

“That’s right,” Wendy said behind her, her voice different.

Mary spun around to look at her friend. “What?”

“He was going to kill you. He was going to kill you, and then he was going to come to me. We were going to be happy. Without you,” Wendy started to advance toward Mary.

“W-what are you talking about, Wendy! You are my best friend!” Mary said, backing away the best she could, but the desk got in her way, she she didn’t have enough room to try to run from Wendy.

“Was. Was your friend,” Wendy said simply. “Now, you are nothing but in my way,” Wendy was nose to nose with Mary now, and she picked up a pen from behind her victim and held it in the air.

“Now die.”
