Visit to the homeless shelter
One Saturday morning Mr. Ashford decided he was going to take his family to Compton , California’s homeless shelter. They’re family consisted of 2 boys , 1 girl , and Mr. and Mrs. Ashford. The boys were 10 and 13. The ten year old was named Brandon , and the 13 year old was named Blake. The girl was 16 and her name is Ashley. They lived in a very big house in Beverly Hills , California, and it was 2017. Mr. Ashford realized that his kids were starting to act very ungrateful , when they already got everything they want and ask for . They needed to realize that they are people with nothing at all.
“Everyone come to the dining room , we need to have a family meeting” said Mr. Ashford.
“Ew” said Ashley. They all gathered into the dining room and Mr. Ashford said , “I have decided that we will be going to the homeless shelter in Compton.”
“Why are we going to a homeless shelter ?’’ asked Brandon.
“I think it would be good for you guys to see just how little some folks have life.”
They arrived one of the biggest homeless shelters in Compton and it looked like a mess .
There was trash everywhere and people that has no shoes and not a lot of clothing. We got out of the car and went inside. The kids were scared because all of the men looked creepy. “They won’t harm you , they have no family” said Mr. Ashford. They had bunk beds up and down , row to row. They had blankets and supplied the most clothing that they could. We went up to one man and talked to him about what he had , how he lived , and how he kept going.
We all got in the car and talked about how much less they have then us .
“I never noticed that we have so much , I have a whole walk in closet of clothes and they have one outfit” said Ashley.
“Yeah that’s so true and we have phones and they don’t have anything at all “ said Brandon.
“Yeah , we need to be more grateful for all we have” said Blake.
“Great hopefully you all have learned how much you guys have and how other people in this world have nothing” said Mr. Ashford.
“I think today was a very good experience , and a very good lesson learned !” said all of the kids.
Everyone else in this world that are very blessed also need to understand this as much as all of these characters in the story just found out. The Lesson of this story is the ones who are more wealthy need to be considerate about the ones who aren’t.
