Rough Draft

It was a sunny August morning and an excited Sarah had just woken up from bed. She got changed and did all the things she would normally do in the morning, but faster that usual. “I’m Sarah,” she thought, “I’m a confident girl ready for my first day of middle school.”
“Sarah, you’re going to be late,” called her mother.
“Coming,” Sarah yelled back.
This was the day she had been waiting for all summer long. Sarah  ate her breakfast in 2 minutes flat and rushed out the door. Then, she impatiently waited for her mother to come out and drive her to school. Sarah was so proud of herself. She had convinced her mom not to come for the first day of school. The first day is when people notice you and you give your first impression. The first impression for Sarah if her mom was with her would be a girl with an overprotective mom and she didn’t want that. It was crowded and she tried really hard not to bump into people but it happened anyway. Little did Sarah know that she had bumped into the queen bee of 6th grade, Jen.
“Watch where you’re going, dork,”cried Jen., “can’t you see I’m walking here?”.
“Sorry,” Sarah said as she quickly walked away. A tall girl in basketball shorts and a T-shirt walked up to her, “Are you ok, I saw Jen yelling at you.”
“ Yeah, I’m fine, just a little shaken up,” Sarah said.
“ I think you might be through the worst of it,” the girl said, “ I’m Joan by the way.”
“I’m Sarah.”
The rest of Sarah’s first day went as usual first days go. The teacher talks the whole period and everyone else has to listen. When she got home she told her mom about Jen and how she had acted.
“She was just stressed and frustrated,” her mom said, “everyone is on the first day of school.”
“Maybe,” thought Sarah as she started doing homework.
The next day all of Sarah’s friends just ignored her and no one talked to her. It was so awkward when they had to do group work and no one in her group would even speak to her.
As she walked around the school thinking to herself Joan “Do you know why no one would talk to you,” asked Joan. She kept talking as though she expected Sarah to be clueless. “ Jen posted some mean comments about you on her blog.”
Sarah was confused to why Jen would do that and promised herself she would fix it. At the end of the day she walked up to Jen and tried to be nice.
“ What do you want, can’t you see I’m busy?,” Jen scoffed.
“ I just wanted to come over and introduce myself.”
“ Well, no need,”Jen said with a fake smile, “ I know that all you came here to do is ruin my life, so back off.”
Sarah just stood their shocked, she had no idea on what this person meant. She never came to middle school to ruin someone else’s life.
When Sarah got home she told her mother what happened during the day and told her she was completely wrong about Jen and that she really was a mean person.
“You might have interpreted it the wrong way Sarah,” her mother said.
“Why are you on her side, Mmom?!,” Sarah exclaimed with shock, “ You don’t even know her.” Sarah ran into her room, closed the door, and screamed as loud as she could. How and why would someone want to ruin her life like that she thought.
The next day she spent most of her time with Joan, who surprisingly didn’t ignore her or walk away from her.
“Joan, why are you still here with me after all the things you saw on Jen’s blog?,” Sarah asked.
“ I’m still here because I know what it feels like., Jen posted a bunch of mean things about me on her blog to.”
“ Like what?.”
“ She said stuff about my grades and stuff that was personal until everyone knew about it.”
“ What did that feel like?.”
“ NoKnow one would talk to me or even make eye contact with me for like, half the year,” Joan said. “ You want to know what I really have a problem with?.”
“ What?,” Sarah asked.
“ No teacher knows about her blog, and no kid wants to tell because they’re all are too scared of Jen. Iv’ve tried to tell, but for those who were brave enough to actually tell the teacher never believes them,” Joan said. “ The last time I tried to tell a teacher she just asked me if I was having jealousy issues with Jen. Every teacher loves Jen and thinks she can do no harm, if only they knew.”
“ Wouldn’t a teacher get curious and just look at her blog for fun?,” Sarah asked.
“ Sarah, they’re are adults., Tthey don’t see anything that isn’t right in front of them,” Joan said calmly., “ Iit’s just not going to happen that way.”
“ Well someone has to do something about it.”
“ So far no one has,” Joan said disappointedly. As they walked home Sarah was determined to find a way to shut that blog down. Joan was in and this was going to be the best ever plot to ruin something ever. If that was a word.
The first thing they had to do was print out all the pages where Jen had insulted or picked on a teacher. Then, they had to print out one front page of the blog for every page of teacher comments. Finally, they had to staple the two pages and slide them under the front door of every classroom with a teacher that was insulted. The perfect plan to put Jen’s blog in the dump was set. All they had to do was put it in action.
“ This is totally going to work,”Sarah excitedly exclaimed.
“ As long as Jen or her minions don’t find out it definitely will work out,” Joan exclaimed, equally excited.
“ Just wondering what would happen if someone did find out?.”
“ If someone did find out and they told Jen, she would make up a bunch of lies about us, cover up the fact about her blog, and set out to ruin our lives forever,” Joan said.Rough Draft
