In morning Chloe always woke up to the smell of crispy crunchy bacon but this was not one of those mornings. She crept down the cold hard wood stairs into the kitchen. Where there was more on the table than just cold cereal and bacon it was hot pancakes, freshly cut fruit, and freshly squeezed orange juice.

“Dad what's going on are you feeling okay?” she questioned.
“Yeh I'm great, want any pancakes or bacon?”he said with a grin.
She didn't know what was going on with her dad. Normally, on a Monday morning, he was sitting on the couch in a old baseball t-shirt, drinking coffee, and watching the news. Now he is cooking and wearing a suit and tie.
“Do you have a job interview or something or are you looking like that for someone special?” she said sarcastically.
“As matter fact I do have a job interview.” he said spilling coffee on his tie.
“I'm good, do I have another tie in the wash?” he said frantically.
“Why are you acting so crazy, it's just a job?.” She said careless.
“It's my last option if I don't get this job...I don't know what we're going to do we have been so far behind in bills since your mother died and-- ”he said stopping
“Dad why didn't you tell me I can get a job?” she said.
“No I just want you to focus on school for now” he said.
 BEEP BEEP!!
“That's for me off to school see you later and good luck at your interview!” she shouted walking out the door.
“Have fun at school…I love you.” His voice said fading.

While on the bus Chloe thought about her mothers accident it had only been 6 months. It was around 5pm on a Friday night she had been waiting anxiously awaiting unlike most teenagers Chloe enjoyed spending time with her parents. Her dad was a glass is always full type of thinker and he was sarcastic. He loved the attention some much he skipped into the restaurant. The restaurant was a town favorite The Mill they were famous for their barbeque and we loved it. For the first Friday in months  they were finally able to go out since mom got her doctor degree she has been working harder than the president. For a while I thought she cared more about her job that us.We walked into the restaurant were the sarcastic waiter was standing.
  “How many?” she barked.
“Three!” Chloe said with excitement in her voice.
About an hour passed and they were filled with laugher and joy. They were walking to the parking lot.
“I’m going to go get the car!” mom shouted from parking lot.
As Chloe and her dad were walking they saw a red car pulling in really fast as her mom was backing out. All of a sudden…..CRASH!! It was like everything slowed down in this moment in time everything happened in flashes. Dad was rushing over to the car.
  “Call 911!” he yelled.
Some lady that was in the parking lot was franticly trying to find her phone. Her dad gave her the strangest look be she knew what it ment.Mom was smashed into her seat there was glass all over her face. She looked so cold so lifeless. Dad was still hold as if he could do something. Her palms got sweaty, face was hot all she could taste was salty tears.  She knew that her mom was dead.

Then she woke from her dream and all she could think was I hope he gets the job. Meanwhile after a long day of school she was anxiously awaiting to get home to hear the new to see if he got the job. She walked through the wet grass urgently, she opened the door in one swift forced motion. She looked through the house looking for her dad.
  “Dad”she yelled up the stairs.
He wasn't, he was always home before her. She just thought that maybe he was still in the interview but then she noticed a empty bottle of wine on the kitchen counter.
“What…Dad hasn't had a drink in 5 years so why now.” She said confused
A few hours passed she was asleep on the old lumpy couch. Then all of a sudden she hears the door open.
“Dad is that you?” she said squinting her eyes.
He came stumbling in the doorway she didn't know what was wrong with him.
 “Are you okay?”she said confused
He still wasn't answering her.
“Why don't you go up to bed it late.”he said facing his face to the door
“No… What is going on with you from this morning and now this I need so answers  and I need them now.” she angrily
 “I…didn't get it.”he say softly
 “What…I don't understand?”she said confused
“I showed into the interview late and drunk!”he yelled
 “Why?”
 “I don't know I just want another drink.”he said
He was dripping with sweat his eyes were red looked like he had been crying and he was shaking.
“Why don't you come sit down on the couch you don't look so good.”
                         “No!”he shouted
Then all of a sudden he started to break down in crying on the floor.
“Dad!” she yelled running over to him
“It's over we are going to lose the house and I have a drinking problem.” He said whaling.
“Okay I'm going to try to get you some help.”she said crying
About an hour they were at the rehab center.
                     “Hi can I help you”
                      “Yes.”he replied
