Karson and his girlfriend, Brenda, pulled up to his bus stop in a old raggedy bus. The bus wasn't even yellow, it was rusty like a pipe that has been left out for a month with non-stop rain. It was a nice 73 degree weather day, the moist air felt good. Karson got off the bus and the stench of gasoline was piercing his nostrils. He usually waits for Her to come off the bus so they can walk together to his house. She took soft steps down the bus, her long black hair bouncing with her bag on her shoulder which she was stiffly grabbing. She steps on the rough concrete and walks over to Karson and politely bumped him. Karson looks over at Brenda with her smooth black hair and her glassy blue eyes. She notices him looking at her, so she looks at him and winks. His face turned red as tomato. He looks down at the ground, she looks down as well but at his clammy hands and laced her fingers with his. They walked down Karsons old, vintage street. Holding hands, fingers laced with each other's. Karson carefully looked over at Brenda and boldly kissed her on the cheek. He knows that she loves it when she shows his affection for her; it makes her feel happy and safe with him.
They arrived to Karson's house. His house is nice average house. A white plastic fence surrounded his house. They walked abnormally into the house, creeping in the front door, walking light footed carefully into the living room. Karson shut the door silently behind him hoping his dad didn't hear him. They walked silently, tiptoeing up the creaky carpeted stairs. Brenda was following behind him, queasily. She knows what type of person Karsons dad is (Philip). She has heard all the stories about him, not all are bad though. They finally get to Karsons room. He moves out the way for Brenda to go in first.
“I'll be right back” Karson whispered.
“Where are you going?” She replied back in a frantic voice.
Karson didn't reply and shut the door behind him. He walked across the hall to his dad's room and waits by the door. Karson looked down at the handle, gripped it tightly and slowly opened the door. He peeked his head in the door and saw his dad sleeping in his bed. A sigh of relief went threw him as he let out a long breath. He closed the door behind him. He walked back to his room, grabbed the handle on the door and pulled it open.
“Is he asleep?” Brenda asked worriedly.
“Yea, he probably won't wake up for a couple hours to be honest, so we have time to do some stuff.” Karson replied back with confidence. He went over to his bed and laid down. Brenda curled up next to him and they both pulled out their phones. Karson usually likes watching YouTube. He likes watching soccer videos or other sports. He likes Gareth Bale,he is a professional soccer player, he plays in Spain for Rèal Madrid. Karson also watches people play videogames. His dream job is to be a YouTuber one day. He thinks it's fun and he gets paid to play videogames, I mean come on who wouldn't want to do that.
Now Brenda on the other hand likes to go on social media a lot. She looks at Instagram and Twitter everyone two minutes and is always on her phone. She really isn't into the whole video game thing like Karson is, but she doesn't really mind, but she does like soccer. Both of them play soccer but Karson does hockey as well.
“Wow, that was sick.” Karson delightfully said as he was watching Gareth Bale Top 10 Goals on YouTube.
“What was so sick.” Brenda replied with a sarcastic tone. He looked over at her and smiled then turned back and started watching again. After a while Brenda put her leg over Karson and dozed off. He looked at her and kissed on her forehead and looked at the time, it was 3:07. He looked out the window and it started to rain, it made him feel sorrowful. He grabbed his phone, plugged in his charger and fell asleep.

Karson woke up with Brenda still on him. He looked over at the time and it was 4:24. He rolled Brenda off of him very carefully so she didn't wake up. Karson sat up and was still tired, he got up and went to the door. As he was walking he heard a noise from outside his room. His door was already opened just a little, but last time he remembered he had shut it. Karson opened the door inquisitively, wanting to know what is going on. He took a small step, gripped the handle of the door and closed it behind him. He went over to the railing and looked down. He sees his dad inhaling a white powder substance, Karson knows it's cocaine. The image of his dad doing drugs made him think about his mom, and suddenly Karson blacked out.
               .                                         .                                             .
It was November, snow was already falling. Karson is getting off the bus and walking home but not with Brenda, she took her own bus home that day. The soft powdery snow was falling on his face, the cold wind blowing hard. While he was walking home he saw bright police lights flashing, he saw an ambulance and a fire truck with its horn blaring. He noticed it was at his house. His hazy eyes opened wide and he started to run, pounding his every step on the concrete, snow flying up behind him. The sirens getting louder with every step he takes. He jolts passed the officers and into his house. There he sees paramedics surrounding his mom and leans over them to see what is going on. The paramedics put his mom on a stretcher and wheels her to the ambulance. Karson in all the commotion looks at his father crying and running around frantically. Karson runs after his mom on the stretcher but it was too late. The ambulance door slammed shut and Karson frightfully came back.
              .                                              .                                             .
“Dad, what the hell are you doing!” Karson yelled, “After what happened to mom, you thinks this is OK and you're fine to do it and there is nothing wrong with it!”
“I can't stop! It's to addicting, to good to stop!”.
Karson bolted down the stairs and grabbed his dad and pulled him away. His dad started fighting back and threw Karson into the wall. His head bashed a hole in the wall. His head started to bleed furiously.
“Why are you doing this!?”
“I don't know.” His dad yelled.
“Dad, after what happened to mom, I can't see the same thing happen to you. Dad, I love you and I don't want to lose you.” All the rumbling around woke Brenda up from her nap and she came running down stairs to see what is going on. Karson got up from the floor and went to his dad and threw him to the ground. His dad turned around and stared into his son's eyes. Karson got up from the floor and pulled his dad up and hugged him. Karsons head was still oozing blood. He was pale and light headed.
“Dad if you are addicted, I will send you to rehab and make sure you give up this s***, it's not healthy.” Karson calmly said.
“Ok” his dad replied, it was a simple answer but that simple answer made Karson and Brenda relieved.
“I love you dad.”
“Love you too son.”
Karson knees buckled and fell to the floor.
“Karson!” His dad said frightfully. Philip picked Karson up by his head and checked his heartbeat and pulse, he didn't feel anything. Brenda came running down the stairs and knelt by his side crying.
“WHY!” Philip yelled out madly. “It's all my fault, i'm a horrible father!”
Philip picked up his phone and called 911 and then blacked out and remembered what happened to his wife.
                       .                                   .                                    .
Philip woke up on the couch with his wife next to him. He has been doing some drugs. He decided to do some meth because Karson is at school and she is asleep. It's been a couple minutes and he is enjoying himself, the feeling he gets is amazing. He went to the kitchen to get some beer and cut up some fruit. He picked up a knife but he heard something in the living room.
“Honey?” He said worriedly
He walks out and sees the look on her face. She stood up steadily and bolted to get the phone. He ran after her and threw her on the ground.
“Don't you think about it.”
She didn't respond.
“Mariah?” He realized he didn't have the knife with him anymore. He turned her over and saw it stabbed in her back. He cried out for help and ran to get the phone.
                  .                                      .                                   .
The cops came in and surrounded his wife. He told the police she had committed suicide. Philip is watching the paramedics come in the door and behind them Karson came running in to see what is going on. They put Mariah on a stretcher and wheeled her out to the ambulance. Karson followed. He looked out the window and once the ambulance door shut, Philip came back to the real world.
                  .                                        .                                         .
Philip woke up and looked around. The cops and paramedics were already at the house. They surrounded Karson and started to check his pulse and heart beat. They put him on the stretcher and wheeled him out the door. Philip and Brenda followed. They lifted him up and set him in the ambulance. The door slammed. A police officer came up to Philip.
“Sir can you tell me exactly what happened?” The police said questionably
Philip looked at the ambulance drive away. The bright lights flashing and sirens getting quieter.
“It was all my fault, I threw him in the wall and he smashed his head.” Philip started crying.
“Ok, well sir you need to come with me.”
“I know.” Philip said bravely.
“I love you son. I'm sorry.” He whispered to himself. He walked over the cop car. The officer put handcuffs on him, opened the door and pushed him inside. The door slammed and Philip collapsed crying.
