GreyBeards
It’s a cold stuffy morning in the city of new york, cars buzzing city roaring and people cold as chicago night, it’s a hard time in the big apple of new york from small time crimes like stealing to lots and lots of pedestrians losing their jobs and robberies happening. it’s a hard time in the streets of new york people popping homeless left and right no love in these streets tonight, crowded streets of smelly jobless people and the underground filled with the casual drug dealer or subway thief, no love in the big apple today.
‘’over here quick’’ running swiftly across the wet slippery sleek ground, ‘’here right here’’ two unknown hooded kids about 15 years old trying to break in a house clothed from head to toe in black clothing black boots, black hoodie and black camo sweat pants. as they break in they start nitpicking on things they want to take. being picky when being thief, is the worst thing one can do in a situation like this. ‘’grab that grab this, no this’’ as they were stealing grabbing and eyeing up things to take they heard footsteps leading up to the door, the sound of keys jingling to find the right key to open the door that lead to the two thiefs. as the door handle turned and the house owner stepped in, he caught one of the thieves he tried to run with all the stuff he had but it was too late, the thief tripped and dropped everything while the house owner grabbed a gun in his end table to defend himself and ended the young thieves life.
it’s about 4 hours after his partners death, he woke up in the alley unconscious and confused how he got there, he remembered that he hit his head on the staircase outside his outs and slipped off, the weather shifted in the morning from humid and sunny to cloudy and heavy rain pouring and drizzling all over his head and clothes, soaked confused and discouraged. he was lost without his partner he cried out ‘’TJ’’ ‘’TJ’’ in outrageous anger and in sorrow he had no choice but to move on from this death, TJ wasn’t just his partner, he was his brother. they had a close relationship they would do everything together they were both put up for adoption at the age of 4 and ever since then TJ took him under his wing and showed him the ways of the streets he was always sorto rebellious but none the less tj has always been a father figure for conner, so it was hard for conner to get over his death, and in the streets of the city it was hard for only 17 year old conner ansah to be homeless alone and with no money in the middle of the heartless city. while on his effortless quest to find a job he stumbled upon a mysterious smelly man in an alley, ‘’hey you’’ as conner walked over there uneasy and his stomach killing him because of how hungry he was. the man had a grey uncut, rugged beard and a sketchy look to him but conner desperate he took it and started talking to him ‘’do you want money?’’ said the grey bearded man ‘’yes of course I am in dying need of money’’ the bearded man offered conner a job as a thief and with former experience with his brother and thieving this was very good offer and this time he was getting paid for it conner showed ambition and took the job the man directed up to an underground subway. conner has never been in this part of the city before and he was really uneasy trusting a man with no name and a homeless look to him, but he was in desperate need so he went with it. the bearded man came to a stop. the door that he stopped at had a weird lock as meant for not only a key but three keys welded together with a marble hilt. he took out the key and opened the door. it lead to two bridges crossing over a body of water there was also a stone pedestal in the middle supporting the bridge. there was lots of other people in here as well. the bearded man turned around and pleasantly announced ‘’conner welcome to the brotherhood. conner was astonished at what he had taken in what he had saw.
short after his arrival he already had a contract it was 6pm dinner time and rush hour in new york so it would be the perfect opportunity to start. conner was very quiet in the secret vault of thieves unlike others he was there for in need of a place to stay, basically a home and work since he was on his own he was okay with anything he was assigned others were volunteers and wanted to be here but Conner did not want to be here. bearded man turned and gave me my assignment as long with as with a partner ‘’conner your assignment is celtic ave’’ that’s surprising because conner was used to one house with his brother, he has never done one whole street in one night. but I guess it was good for the change in pace so they head out trying to dodge being seen black hoodies with the hoods up and black jogger pants with a duffle bag and a one strapped backpack. as they were approaching the street all the lights shut off so it was a perfect opportunity his partner started pick locking house after house and they were all successful one after the next towards the end of the night the duffle bag was almost full and they almost had a successful night but towards the end of the night the feeling didn’t feel right conner was feeling uneasy and he spoke to his partner about it ‘’can we end early tonight i don’t feel right, somethings not right’’ conner said. his partner politely refused and that was the end of it. as they were approaching the last house conner kept creeping slower and slower he soon realized that the house he was approaching was the same house that he tried to rob with his brother. that’s why he was feeling so uneasy. as soon as they got to the alley he realized that his partner was the killer of his brother. and as soon as he realized that he stopped in aww. he slowly backed up from him, as he was backing up his partner turned around and asked with an evil grin, ‘’ where you goin conner?’’ as he was saying this his grin got bigger and bigger and had an evil look on his face, you could say the death in his eyes. he reached in the bag and pulled out a suppressed pistol, conner froze and looked at himself in the reflection of the sleek black pistol, he felt himself back up ‘’why are you doing this?’’ he didn’t reply he just remembered a flashback of his brother stealing and him dropping, and hat in this moment was him conner realized he was dead from the start, a life of stealing scamming and without his brother is a life not worth living. so he sat back while his partner pulled the trigger. but as he pulled the trigger nothing fired. his partner took off his half face mask, and conner soon realized it was his brother. he realized he had no one at the beginning.
