It was almost the end of winter, and almost the end of the basketball season. Robert and his friends were trying to win it all. They made it this far, all the way to the big game. The game for the championship. They played so well throughout this season, they just had to finish this. They had to play the stars for the championship and if they won, they would bring back a trophy and become champions. They practiced on the basketball court all day, preparing for the championship game in a couple of hours. Robert gets the ball, runs with it and lays it in.

    “C’mon boys!  Let’s do this!  Let’s play this game with everything we got!”  Robert cried encouraging his team.
    Coach came over to Robert and the team.   “This is it boys. Let's show them how much we want it. Let’s prove how ready we are to play our hearts out and bring home this school a trophy.”
    “Our fans are already here,” Coach said encouragingly.  “The game starts in thirty minutes!”  He patted Robert on the back and walked away.
“We are gonna play our hearts out like coach said, but if we start losing by too much, their best player Leonard might just trip on accident and sprain his ankle.” Robert winked at Jake.  “Ain’t that right?”
      Robert told his crew that they had play this game with all that they got. They game starts in thirty minutes people already arriving to the court ready to watch this game. The stars are on the other side of the court practicing while Robert and his team the Lions are on the other side of . Jake looks at Robert with disbelief like he is almost joking, and says “just be careful Rob”. Coach goes back up to the team and says, “time to shake the opposition hands and get ready to pay boys!”  Robert looks around at the people in the court. The whole place is backed with at least three hundred people there. Nobody here has ever played in front of that many people yet. But since it's a big game for the championship of course this place is gonna be packed. Robert knows he can play in front of this many people, he's the mvp on the Lions. He knows he's a big threat to the Stars. Robert just hopes that the rest of the team can play in front of everyone. Robert here’s a buzz from his phone and he got a text, checked it and one of his friends said,
“Good luck Robert, bring us all back a trophy”. The place is so loud! Everyone cheering “let's go Lions!” Ref comes up to everyone and says “let the game begin!” Everyone gets in their positions and ref throws up the ball and we get it and start off with the basketball. First quarter starts. Jake passes the ball to start, and
gives it to Robert and Robert shoots the three pointer and makes it! 3-0 Lions are up. The stars get the ball and pass it to Leonard and he dribbles the ball right passed jake and drops a three pointer. Game is tied 3-3. Then jake is passing the ball to Robert and Leonard steals the ball and puts in a layup. Then jake has the ball dribbled the ball passed a player on the stars and goes to shoot and misses. Leonard gets the ball back and puts in a three pointer. Six minutes left in the first quarter and the stars are on a 10 and 0 run. The stars are up 12-3. Coach calls time out. Coach came up to us and said,
“Guys what are we doing? Are we playing to win or lose because right now it looks like we're not trying. Everybody needs to step it up soon.”
Everybody says “yes coach!”
Robert says “Jake this game is not looking great. If we are down by half time I'm gonna have to trip Leonard.
Jake says, “Robert I thought you were joking!”
Now they're back and they have ball and know they need to score. Jake passes the ball to Robert and Robert runs passed Leonard stops running and shoots the jumper and scores!

Now the score is 12-5.
Leonard gets the ball back runs up and shoots a perfect three pointer and puts it in like it's  nothing.  One minute left in the first quarter and the Lions are down 24-13. The Lions have the ball.
Roberts has ball, passes it to jake and jake puts up the three pointer and it is in! Now stars have the ball with the shot clock off, Leonard gets the ball and with one second left of the first quarter Leonard puts in the layup to end the first quarter. Now the Stars are up 26-16.
       Second quarter is about to start and coach says, “you guys really have to step it up. Stop playing like you don't mean it, we didn't make it this far for nothing, right boys!”
“Yes coach!”
Second quarter starts Leonard has the ball with Robert covering him, Leonard puts it threw Roberts legs and runs in for the layup. Now it's 28-19. Now Jake has the ball and Robert yells “pass it”, so Jake gives it to Robert and Robert puts in the three and the whole crowd starts  chanting! Score is now 28-19. Five minutes into the second quarter the Stars are on a 6 and 0 run. The score is 34-19. Robert gets ball and dribbles past Leonard and drops a pull up jumper. Now the score is 34-21. Next, there's 2 minutes left in quarter two and score is now 42-31, the Stars are still leading. Jake has the ball right now, passes to Robert, he passes it back to Jake and Jake makes a two pointer. Then with 30 seconds left in the 2nd quarter Robert has the ball and drops a 2 pointer. Leonard gets ball back quick with five seconds and passes it to his teammate and his teammate passes the ball back to him and he puts in a three pointer to end the second quarter. The stars end the half 45-34.

       Third quarter is about to start and Robert says, “Jake I'm doing it”. Jake says in frustration, “whatever Robert good luck”. Third quarter starts and the score is 45 to 34 Stars. Leonards teammate passes him the ball with Jake blocking him. Leonard runs past Jake, looks at the net at lays it in. Score 47-34. Robert stares at Leonard with a dirty look, gets the ball and puts in a three. Now, with thirty seconds left in the third quarter, the score is 69 to 58 Leonard gets the ball and Robert is blocking him, Leonard goes to run past him and layup, and Robert goes to trip him and misses his leg and his foot lands the wrong way and he fell and just lays on the court. The crowd in disbelief. The coach and staff run to see if Robert is okay, and coach looks at his leg and says,
“his ankle is sprained.” Robert whining in pain. Jake goes up to his and says,
you shouldn’t of tried to play dirty, now look who ends up hurt. Robert says,
“you are right. Just try to win this game without me”. Jake says,
“no promises, but I will try my best.” So now there is ten seconds left in the third quarter and Jake gets the ball, runs up and drops the three for the buzzer beater! Crowd cheering in joy. Jake felt good. Ready to play, and finish off this game.

    Now it’s the 4th and final quarter. Score is 69 to 61. Only an eight point game. Coach talks to the team before 4th quarter starts and says,
“this is gonna be a tough won boys. We have lost Robert, and he was a big part of this game. Everybody play their best, do your jobs and hopefully we can come out with a win.”
The rest of the team shouts “yes coach!” Now starts the 4th quarter. Jake gets the ball, passes Leonard and puts in a layup! Crowd screams in joy. It’s only a six point game now. Leonard gets the ball, passes Jake and also lays it up. Back to a eight point game. Now with two minutes left in the game the score is tied at 81 to 81. Jake gets the ball, and the crowd screaming
“let’s go Lions!” Jake runs up and waits until three seconds left in the shot clock and puts up the three and scored! Everyone is going crazy. One minute and thirty eight seconds left, and Leonard has the ball. He runs to the net and puts in a layup! Score is now 84 to 83.
Jake has the ball, he shoots with one minute left and it's in! 84-85 now. Next, Leonard gets the ball and with forty seconds left he shoots and finally misses. Now Jake has ball, runs the clock down to twenty four seconds and shoots a three and it's in! Score is 88-84. Leonard with one second left puts in a three, but it isn't enough and the Lions win without their mvp Robert 88-87 lions!
