The Break In at Buckingham Palace
And as the guards start moving to the right at a steady pace, I look at George and ask him, “George, you ready?¨
“Never been as ready as today.¨
“Let's go.¨
April 7, 2012, 8 months before the break in, Manchester, England.
“Yo George, come here.¨
“What happened?¨
“Look what I found on the news.¨
“Recent studies show that the queen of England is one of the richest people in the world and she owns one of the most expensive items in the world, her crown which is expected to be worth about 20 to 50 million us dollars, hows that for you John? it's incredible, I mean how is it possible for…¨
“George, did you hear that? 20 to 50 million dollars!
“Yeah, so…”
“So..., we need that money man,” This feels like the perfect time to take something that isn't mine
“So you want to, want to, want to rob the palace?”
“Yes, George!”
“Rob, I don't think that’s a good idea.”
“George, how about this, let's make plans to go and visit the palace and see if this is really worth it.
June 4th, 2012 6 months before the break in, London, England.
Crowds of people are surrounding us. We can barely move around. It looks like an alien invasion. But people aren't running. They’re walking.
¨George lets go away from these crowds so we can have a better look at the palace.¨ As I walk down to get a better look, I see the guards all around the main entrance. There are at least 20 to 30 guards standing in the main entrance. Now I’m getting scared.
“George, now I'm kind of regretting this.”
“Regret what, the break in?” George whispers.
“Yes, George.”
“Well, what are you gonna do now?”
“I don't know. All I know is that I want that money man.”
“If you want the money, you have to take a risk!”
“George, I know that, but I don't know how to do it!”
October 31, 2 months before the break in, London, England.
“Yo George?”
“What happened?”
“I have an idea.”
“Is it about the break in?”
“Yeah. I think that we can go through the back door.”
“Do guards protect it?”
“Yeah but half the amount of guards that are in the main entrance.” I knew that the only way I would be successful if-if I broke in through the back door.
“K but I don't think that that would be easy to get back there.”
“Well, obviously but we can go during shift right when both sets of guards are on both sides of the palace. While they are shifting we go in. break the window covered with a pillow so some of the sounds minimize and we run.”
“Sounds...Swallows saliva good.”
“You ready for the most dangerous day of your life?”
“Uhh. Yes, yeah.” I say in a regretful voice.
January 1st, 1:58AM , London, England.
This is it. The day we risk our lives.
“George. Get in the car.” My heart is beating so much I thought there was an earthquake going on. As we drive towards to the parking lot of the palace, we put our masks and gloves on and I check the time and see that there's one minute left till shift. As we park the car, I head for the side of the building 10 seconds before the shift. I And as the guards start moving to the right, I look at George and ask him, “George, you ready?¨
“Never been as ready as today.¨
“Let's go.” We tiptoe slowly moving behind the building and I pull out the bat. “George, take out the pillow,” I whisper.
George places the pillow on the window and I give it a big hit. It is louder than I thought it would be. I know that all of the guards heard it.
“George, RUN!” As we ran down the inside of the palace, I felt my heart beating so fast that I didn't think that I could handle it.
“George, upstairs!”
“Got it.” We run up the stairs, open a door, and we see the queen wide awake, looking at us in the eyes. It doesn't matter to me. We just kept running through the palace. We took all the jewelry that we found on the counter. We run up to the roof thinking about where we were going to escape and as that was happening, there was nowhere to go. I look down and I see a river. A thin river. We have to jump or we will die. As we jump down, my whole life flashes before my eyes. Me and George land in the water and I feel like my arm has fallen off. It has bumps on it and it was completely red. As we get out the water, we can barely move. We run as fast as we can to the car and we drive off as fast as lightning. 2 hours later, we were in our apartment buying plane tickets for sunrise heading for Miami.
“George, check the bag.”
“K. Jewelry, necklaces, bracelets...Uh, Damn it." George whispers. "Rob?”
“Yes George, What do you want?”
“There is no crown.”
