RING...RING!  The bell rang. It was the last day of school, and everyone was so excited to be out of school, but Drake and Brady were the most excited.  They were excited because they had no more homework to do and they got to go to the county fair right after school.  The doors bursted open and kids flew outside, like caged-up birds being set free.  The parents were out in their cars waiting for their kids to be done with 7th grade.  It was a humid day in Miami, Florida, with very little clouds and a lot of sunshine.  Drake sprinted to his mom’s 2017 Hyundai Elantra while Brady walked to his mom’s green Ford Fiesta.  Both of them drove home and got ready for the fair. As Drake burst through the green door of his green house (both his parents were biologists, it made perfect sense), he ran into the kitchen and called Brady to see what he should wear because he was uncertain of the proper attire.

“Hey, dude! Are you excited for tonight?” Drake said.

“Yeah. It’ll be one heck of a carnival.  I even heard they were bringing in targets for us to shoot at with real 12 millimeter pistols!” Brady was really hyped up about this.

“Uh, yeah… It sounds really unsafe. I don’t think we should go.”

“Chicken. C’mon, just put on your old USA jersey from baseball this year and you’ll be good to go.”

“Fine. I’ll be there at 4.” Drake was sure that something was going to go wrong, but he couldn’t leave his friend.

“Okay, cool. We will have a blast!”

“Yeah, uh, okay. If you say so.” Drake replied.

Brady hung up and sprinted down to Drake’s house since they live in the same neighborhood, Tinfoil Roof Homes.  The boys finally arrived to the fair and they were just in time.  They looked around and couldn't decide what they should do first.

“How about we buy our tickets first? ”Drake suggested.

“Alright, sounds good.” said Brady.

Weeds growing from the ground, paint chipping off the sides, the boys went up to the old red ticket booth.  They looked at the sign that was slammed down in front of them.  The sign read: 10 tickets= $5, 20 tickets= $10, and 30 tickets= $15.

“Well,” Brady said, “If we want to do a lot of things here, we might want to buy a lot of tickets. How about 30?”

“Alright,” Drake said, nodding his head in agreement.

“30 tickets please,” Drake said to the nasty looking high-school dropout behind the booth. The man slapped the tickets into Brady’s hand and said uninterestedly:

“Have a nice day.  By the way, you might not want to ride the…” His voice trailed off.

“Ok. That was weird.” Brady said as they were walking away.  Drake shook his head in agreement.  The two boys, excited and cheerful, took their tickets and walked around for a little bit until they found the ride that would make them as dizzy and lightheaded as possible.  It was called the Whirlwind. Standing over 10 stories high, it was the king of all the rides. Loops, spins and twirls, it was enough to make a grown man cry.

“Well, what are we waiting for, Drake?” Said Brady.  “Let's go have have some fun!” Brady stepped right up to the towering ride and sat down while Drake was debating on whether or not this was a good idea or not.  He wasn't going to be scared in front of his best friend so he hopped on the ride and got strapped it.  The guy that checked the riders came around to make sure that everyone was strapped in as tight and as secure as possible.

“All set,” said the ride operator as he gave the thumbs up to his partner who started the ride.

The ride started trembling and started to slowly make its way towards the top of the track.  The ride, a noisy piece of junk, made a weird noise every time someone moved.  It had arrived at the top of track and was getting ready to race down hill.  But all of a sudden, the ride stopped and didn't move an inch.  The only sound you could here were people screaming from below the roller coaster.

“What are they screaming about down there?” Drake said with his eyes shut tightly and with his whole body shaking in fear.

“I'm not sure,” Brady said. “Probably just people screaming because they just had won a game or something.”

“Now is probably not a great time to tell you this but I am afraid of heights,” Drake said.

“Just hold on tight and we will be down soon,” Brady responded.

When Drake looked down out of the cart with his two ocean blue eyes, he saw a small group of people holding weapons that strangely looked like the 12 millimeter pistols. The group just started to open fire them.

A couple seconds after that over the announcements a guy yelled out, “Allahu Akbar” over and over and over again.

“It's ISIS!!!!!” Screamed Drake, as the guy holding one of the very powerful weapons looked at Drake.  With feet stomping, and bodies charging, the police tackled the ISIS members until they were all subdued.

“Thank God!” Yelled Brady in a warm voice.

The police team brought the ride back down to safety as families gathered around the coaster, waiting for the riders to get off.  Ambulances were crowded around them as they laid everyone on their back to make sure they were alright.  It appeared that nobody was injured so they helped everyone back to their feet. After their scary experience, they both vowed to never go to the carnival again.
Ring...Ring! The bell rang as Brady and Drake ran out of the school. It was the first day of school, and the boys were excited to get home.
