Sleep Paralysis

As I settled into bed that night my mind wandered to that of flying. The idea of being completely free to fly the highest heights. To be amongst the clouds and to be one with the sky. As my body began to rest my dream became vivid. It felt as if my body was flying. I felt my feet lift off from the ground and my arms spread. I could feel the wind blowing my hair and the sun warming my skin.
As I got higher and higher my body felt more free than before. As I reached out to touch a cloud my body felt uncontrollable. My ability was leaving me. I started to fall, my whole body shaking, leaving me paralyzed with fear. As I fell from the sky my body tightened and my stomach seemed to drop out of my body. Just as I was about to hit the ground my eyes shot open. I looked around my pitch black room seeing nothing. I attempted to lift my hand but my body didn’t move. I started to panic, I tried moving my feet but only my toes would move. I tried to lift my head up but my body remained completely still. I tried to frantically move my limbs out of panic yet they refused to move. I started breathing heavy but I couldn’t see my chest moving at all. “Am I dead?” I thought to myself. I tried to call out for my family but my lips were sewn shut. I tried to scream for help but my mouth wouldn't open for the scream to escape. I just sat there staring at the ceiling, staring at the pitch blackness in hopes of gravitating towards sleep.
Thats when I heard it, “just coming to say goodnight,” I looked around and saw nothing. “This is all in my head,” I thought. I began having difficulty breathing, my chest felt as if someone had sat on it holding forty pounds of weight. I felt overwhelmed with fear making my mind feel agitated. My ability to breathe was being restricted, the voice came again however this time it whispered in my ear, “Don’t panic child.” I could feel the voices breath on my neck as it spoke. Chills ran up my body causing me to panic once again. I attempted to scream again but I felt like my body was tied down to the bed. I shut my eyes, trying to fall asleep. “Open your eyes,” it said in my ear once again. The presence of this voice felt evil yet the tone was as if a mother was speaking to her new born. I hesitated opening my eyes but curiosity got the best of me. I opened my eyes slightly to see red eyes glaring down at me. As I examined it further I could make out the black outlines of a demon. His red eyes just stared into mine making it almost impossible to break his gaze. As he stared at me my mind was trying to scare for help. He reached out his hands and they came closer to my face. I shut my eyes tightly and started screaming help in my mind. I felt his hands touch my face and I clenched my fists and tried to roll on my stomach to get him off. As I squirmed and squirmed the demon started speaking in gibberish. I kept my eyes closed and tried to scream again.
The pain stopped, the feelings stopped. I hesitated opening my eyes. When I opened them finally I looked around and saw nothing. I then tried to move my arms and they surprising lifted up the covers like I intended. I flew the blankets off and sprinted to the light switch. After turning the lights on I inspected the room for the demon. Breathing heavily, I walked quickly to the bathroom. Turning on the cold water I washed my face. Looking into the mirror I saw the bags under my eyes. “It’s ok, It was just a dream,” I thought to myself. “It was just a nightmare, nothing more.” I took a deep breath and walked slowly back to my room.
