My Final Choice Piece
Buckle your seatbelts boys and girls, teachers, and whoever is going to be reading this in this spectacular time of your life, in 3 short pages I’m going to tell you all about why I have to write this paper. So sit down and enjoy my 4-am-high-energy-with-lots-of-procrastination-extravaganza. What you're about to read is the best thing you’ve probably read in awhile, so buckle your seatbelts and enjoy!
“You are doing another choice piece, and it’s your last one so try your best, and it's due in two weeks,” Says my L.A teacher “it's the last one you'll probably EVER write, isn't that sad?”
Sad is the total opposite of doing my final choice piece. I’m filled with joy and excitement, and every other happy emotion you can think of! I'm bouncing off the walls, smiling at every friend that looks my way, and celebrating because I’ve almost made it throught the year, and it's my final choice piece. I look down at the rubric. I’m screwed. Between the procrastination, my mind not making up what I want to write, especially in three pages, and all of these writing techniques. My brain is racing, my heart beating, hands shaking. What in the world will I write!? I’ll just write about the 7th grade, that’d be simple. But as the week went on, and the story progressed I start to think
I bet other people are writing the same thing as me because it’s the last one ever! Well my 13 year old brain, a professional overthinker, decided that I needed to do something different. Hoping that it wasn't matching anybody else's story, so all the teachers who read this could go
“That story, it’s different and interesting, man that story,’’ So now I’m almost halfway through the second page and have 9 more writing techniques to fit in, and I hope a teacher has said “That story, it’s different and interesting, man that story,’’ but you never know. They could be reading this and cringing every second, or one of them could see a bee land right on my paper and BAM, now my paper has a dead bee on it. Fantastic.
So it’s 10:07 on a Thursday night and this paper is due tommorow with revision and edits, and I’m still working on it. I’m looking at the computer screen with all of the typed words going down on the screen, my lights slightly dimmed and me sitting on the most comfortable couch. Ever. I need sleep desperately, but my indecisiveness, and procrastination got to me, all of these due dates have come up too fast. It’s about 10:30 and I look like a mess. Sweatpants, hair in a bun, eating a poptart while I’m at it. If I don’t get to bed soon my mom is going to kill me! My eyes are drooping and I’m struggling to stay awake, I guess I’ll finish typing it tomorrow morning.
You can unbuckle your seatbelts boys and girls, teachers, and whoever just read this in this spectacular time of your life, in 3 short pages you just witnessed my 4-am-high-energy-with-lots-of-procrastination-extravaganza on why I am writing this paper. Oh I forgot one thing.
“Good night mom!”

I wrote the specific piece because I procrastinated so much that this was my mind while I was trying to type this paper.
