I myself am flaws stitched together with good intentions.

I sit on my carpeted stairs with my sister behind me, occasionally twirling the curls that rest on my back.  My brother sits by the door checking his watch every ten seconds.  I can hear a TV running, playing a show with the same dry comedy as all the other shows.  I pick at my deep blue dress, feeling quite foolish.  Foolish for actually believing you would show up.  Foolish for thinking I had a chance with you.  Foolish for announcing to my whole family that I had a date to prom.  So, as my siblings and I wait for somebody who's never going to show up, I drag myself up the stairs, not letting them see me at my weak point.
