Short Story
Crazy Rob decided to take a road trip by himself he was going to Orlando, Florida. He was very nervous because he had never traveled alone, but he wanted to try it out. Anytime Rob went on a road trip with his friends they would get into an argument. Rob wanted to try something different, so he booked the trip just for himself. He does miss his friends going, but it will be a lot less stressful without them. While Rob was driving he yelled at the other drivers because that is just how Rob is.
When he got to Florida the first thing he was going to do was watch the Florida Gators play against his favorite team Arizona State football team. This was the main reason he was going to Florida. He was really excited about the football game, so he stopped at the hotel to check in and get settled. He dropped his bags off to his room and got on his way to the football game.
While he was driving he heard a whistling sound coming from the outside of his car. He started to slow down and pulled over to the side of the road. He got out to look what was wrong and it noticed he had a flat tire. He was still pretty far from the stadium. Rob looked around for help, but no one was stopping. The traffic was bad because everyone was trying to get to the game. It didn’t help that he had never been to Orlando before, so he didn’t know where anything was located in the city. Rob started to get pretty angry. He waited for someone to come help him by this time the game was almost over. He finally was able to get his tire fixed.
Once Rob got his car fixed he straight back to the hotel room. He was so mad and disappointed that he didn’t make it to the game to watch his favorite football team. A few days went by, Rob just laid around in the hotel room not really doing anything. He had lost all of his motivation to do anything else on the trip because of missing the game.
One day when Rob was just laying around in the room he heard a knock on the door. Rob just thought it was housekeeping, so he didn’t rush to get the door. When he did open it one of his friends was standing in the doorway. They had come to surpirse him because they knew he was feeling down about the football game. Rob had called his friends when the whole car situation happened and let them know that he wasn’t going to make it to the game. Rob was really excited to see his friends. Rob friends took him out to explore Orlando, so he could enjoy the last part of his vacation. They took him out to eat and went to see new things around the city. Rob was really happy that his friends came and made him feel better. Most importantly they did not let him leave the trip feeling down and gave him a good experience.
After dinner Rob and his friends went golfing. This was Rob’s favorite thing to do with the guys besides debating with them about sports. Rob had a smile on his face and you could tell how happy he was to be golfing in Florida with his best friends. Rob is very competitive when it comes to playing sports with his friends, but that day he did not care about winning or losing, he was just happy that he was doing something that he enjoyed with friends. This was probably the one time that you wouldn’t call him crazy Rob because he wasn’t yelling or arguing with someone, he was just having a good time with his friends.
Rob and his friends went back to his hotel. They all settled in and gathered around the TV to watch football. They were all having a good time talking and watching TV, but Rob was pretty quiet which is unlike Rob. He just did not look right. All of his friends asked him “Are you okay?” One of his friends said “you never should have went for that all you can eat seafood”, “but I never back down from a challenge” said Rob. “I’m just having really bad stomach cramps”. His friends felt bad, so they all left to go watch the game somewhere else. One friend stayed to keep on eye on Rob. He started to feel better as the night went on. He needed to get some rest.
Rob woke up feeling better he had no more cramps and he felt rested. He felt pretty good about the day. It was Rob and his friends last day in Florida. Rob and his friends planned on going out to go bowling. It was just another competitive and fun game they could all play together. When they got to the bowling alley they split up into two teams. Rob’s team was leading most of the game. Rob was cheering and yelling throughout the game. It came down to the last person on Rob’s team to get a strike for them to win the game. Rob’s friend knocked down every pin except for the very last one. Rob’s team ended up losing the game. Rob wasn’t mad about losing the game he just happy to be hanging out with friends. Rob’s friends had a surprise for him. After they got done bowling they all knew they had tickets to a football game except for Rob. He had forgot that Florida State was playing Arizona State his favorite team. The previous Saturday when Rob arrived to Florida he was planning on going to see the Florida Gators play Arizona State, but he missed it. His friends were hoping that Rob wouldn’t notice they were getting closer to the stadium. “Are we going to the football game guys? Said Rob”. “Yes were are” said his friends. Rob was so happy they had made his day. It was special to Rob because he was able to go to the game with his friends. After the game and they went back to the hotel and started packing. They were getting ready to head to the airport. Rob sat there and thought about his trip he appreciated what all his friends did for him. “ This was the best road trip I have ever been on” said Rob.
