Will I excel
I wake up, put on my tomboy clothes, and go outside to do hockey.I practiced and practiced in the hot beating sun. I try and try getting new angles and shooting the puck harder every time. I pull my blonde straight hair back push up my glasses. In the process of shooting pucks, I put my roller blades on to get faster on the ice. I pushed and pushed until (CRASH) I fell, but it didn't stop me I got right back up and kept on going. I passed by my best friends house Norma and I went up to her house and ranged the doorbell ( ding dong ding dong ding dong ring ring). Hello, Mrs. Ghada is Norma able to come out and play? " Yes, she is, " Mrs. Ghada said, as she screamed Norma's name to come down and play. As Norma comes down the stairs I see her dark brown straight hair bouncing with her neutral clothes.
"Hey" as norma squealed.
" Hey " I squealed back.
I asked, so want to come to my house and hang?
“Sure we should play with your cats, go outside, and maybe make cookies like we always do” Norma exclaimed
Ya, we can totally do that, but I actually need to talk to you about something, I replied
"What is it?” Norma implied.
Well, I'm trying to make this hockey team that's kinda a big deal, so I wanted your advice to see how I'm doing? I yelped.
“Ok, But I don't know anything about hockey,” Norma said.
“I know I just want your true opinion,” I yelled.
“Ok, I will try my best!” Norma yelped.
I get into my position and slapshot, wrist shot, quick shot, and more.
“WOW, I have no words,” Norma shouted!
I replied, " really I want another opinion, can you go get my brother Andrew...."
“Sure,” Norma said, “but isn't he doing homework and trying to bring up his grades. "
“Who cares I need another person opinion!" I replied.
“Fine I'll go and get him but if he yells at me it's all your fault,” Norma implies.
“Ok, I will take the blame if he yells at you” ( I grin with a smile).
As I see my brother Andrew and his blonde curly short hair coming outside he says," what do you want I told you I'm doing my homework!"
I said nervously, “look I'm trying to make that important hockey team and I need your opinion if I'm doing good?”
“OK, fine but hurry up”, he says angrily!
“OK thanks, brother.” I did the same thing that I did in front of Norma but more nervous slapshot, wrist shot, quick shot, and more.
"Well, how did I do? " I asked.
Andrew replied,” Good now can I please go back upstairs to get my work done!”
" Ugh sure" Norma and I scream!
“ Look, Norma, it's getting late I think you should go home, so I can get a good rest so I could do amazing at the hockey tryouts tomorrow,” I yawned.
“OK, I hope you do good tomorrow wish you luck,” Norma replies.
( The next day at the tryouts). I get up ready to play some hockey, so I get my gear on and put on my skates and OH NO my skates don't fit what am I going to do.I thought and I ran up to the front desk to ask for skates, I told them my size. I got the skates put them on and Get on the ice, skating as powerful as I can, shooting as hard as I can, and trying my best. I was really excited but nervous at the same time my hands started to get clammy and I felt so much pressure. I get done with tryouts and I feel good (breathes heavenly), but failed at times but I just kept on trying. ( 1 week later) I get an email. I was so scared to open it, but I knew I had to so I did. The email says!
Hello Julianna Pascaris,
This is the coach of Honey Baked, I saw you play and I thought you did really good, but sadly you didn't make the team and I'm very sorry but I hope to see you soon.
Sincerely, Coach Mark
As I read the email I got kinda sad because I worked really hard for this team. Even though I didn't make it I'm still going to keep on practicing even harder until I make the team next year. I got in the car and drove home. I get into my house to tell my family I didn't make it, they explained to me “sometimes life doesn't go as planned and you just have to live with that so just keep on trying.” I ran upstairs after that conversation and facetimed Norma telling her the bad news. Her reaction was sweet and mad
“ Screw those coaches you probably did amazing and they thought you were too good for the team, but I'm sorry that it didn't work how you wanted it!” Norma yelled.
I replied, “ Thanks, Norma.” After facetiming Norma for hours I got out a piece of paper and wrote,” I will try my hardest, I will excel, I'm not going to give up, I'm going to keep on trying, excel excel excel, I'm going to be strong and powerful, I'm not giving up until I reach my goal, nothings going to stop me, excel excel excel.” After writing this on a piece of paper I went to bed and thought of how I can get better every time. I fell asleep while thinking of it. Therefore ever since that day I look at that piece of paper on my wall and feel powerful like I can do anything.

My story is about me, my brother, and my best friend Norma. I'm trying to make this hockey team that's kinda a big deal and I want my friend and my brother's opinion to see how I'm doing but then something bad happens before I get on the ice and I have to find a way to fix it in a limited amount of time.
