Campground
Heat radiates from the sun sending me into a trance. I see a muddied truck gleaming with rust and a wooden barn lurking in the woods. My dog’s chest rises and falls as I sway back and forth. The humid air soaks into my lucid skin, lulling my body to sleep. The scent of pine sap lingers in the air. Looking around, I can see a firepit and its once bright red embers staring into my eyes. The silence is only broken by the rustle of leaves. With great struggle, I rise and leave my peaceful abode.
