The heir looked out the window with a dreaded look on his face as for his mother and father the king and queen unwillingly had engaged him to the neighboring kingdoms princess Rosa. And of course, she was pretty like any other princess! But Octavius sought for a different lady who would better suit him. And he thought that there was really no point in bring one's kingdoms together especially only for selfish reasons like his father. Rosa was from the kingdom of gold and riches and Octavius’s father desired to take over it and have his eldest son Octavius soon one day take over it for him. As for his father's only goal was to rule all the lands far and wide. And even tho Octavius objected to the engagement his mother insisted that she was the perfect match for him as for she was extremely beautiful, and fair. But that’s not what Octavius wanted… Octavius wanted a lady he could pick on his own at freewill. In fact, Octavius wanted more than that Octavius wanted a lady who was strong, smart, and powerful. Because in Octavius mind Beauty got boring overtime and he would slowly outgrow any lady his parents picked for him so he would much rather have a woman he could value for her strength rather than her beauty. Like Mikaela! Mikaela was a smart, beautiful, and power lady who was bought overseas for the soul purpose of protecting the royal family. She was fierce and showed no mercy to anyone who’s wronged her over the years. Her hair was a bright rose red that was always tied up neatly into a ponytail that draped along down her back, and her eyes were diamond blue and seemed to twinkled like starts in the night sky when in contact with the sun. Even tho Octavius never really came in contact with her before he could always catch himself catching a little glimpse of her when she was on patrol. But he never stopped to think that he was actually in love with her before. Octavius then shot up from his place at the window, and rushed to the west garden where Mikaela was patrolling today.
“MIKAELA!” He shouted running though the garden “MIKAELA!”
“OCTAVIUS?” She shouted back over the giant rose bush
Octavius then ran though the bush and saw Mikaela standing there confused with a concerned look on her face.
“IS EVERYTHING ALRIGHT?” She asked frantically
Octavius stopped to catch his breath before responding “I want you to be my bride!” He said still trying to catch his breath
“WHA!? Why would you want me to be your bride?” She asked in a very confused manner “what about Rosa?”
“I don’t want Rosa. I want you, Mikaela!” He’d announce proudly to her
“But why wouldn’t you want to marry another noble…” She asked again
“Because Mikaela you’re the only woman I’ve met that has brought me the most joy since day one!” He responded joyfully now holding onto both of her hands “I love you Mikaela will you do the honor of marrying me?”
Mikaela froze up for a second still confused but flattered at the situation which turned her face a place pink slowly tuning into red as it set in for her that Octavius wasn’t joking. And the way he looked in her eyes told her that he truly wanted to marry her. But Mikaela didn’t know why he would ever want to marry a commoner like her in a million years. What was so special about her anyways? Mikaela saw nothing in herself her only job was to protect the royal family. So, the thought of marriage never crossed her mind before not even once. But the truth was that Mikaela liked him back for a while too, but she never really took too much thought about them being together before. After all he was a noble soon to be king one day while she was just someone who stood by day after day patrolling the castle for danger.
“Y-yes…” Mikaela mumbled “I will do you the honors of marrying you!” She said looking up with a smile
Octavius then lifted her into a princess carry and kissed her during the joyful moment hopping it would never end!

This piece is probably one of my shortest’s story’s I have to offer, and consistently my only romance story I’ve ever written! As for I’m not too fond of the romance genre. But I decided to give it a try so please let me know if I should continue this with a part 2 of what happens next, or if i should just leave it up to the reader’s imagination?
