A Modest Proposal A way to save the almost extinct animals, to repopulate and replenish the earth of all the necessary living creatures Without any surplus at all

Are humans the only lifeform on this planet? We may think so, but that is not the case. Making up only 0.01% of the earth’s biomass, humans make an extremely negative impact on our planet and those who inhabit it. Since the rise of human civilization, 83% of wild animals have been lost.  But this can change, and it will over the course of the next few decades because after all, humans cannot and do not rule all life on earth. The solution may seem a little unconventional, but it will cleanse this beautiful earth that we call home.
How do we save and repopulate animals while the main cause for the extinction still lives? The answer is truly simple once we can get pass its rather unorthodox nature. I think we can all agree that humans are the main cause for the extensive decline in mammals on earth, therefore the most obvious solution is to, simply put, eradicate all humans from the face of the earth. Our planet would return to its original state when only animals and plants grew and flourished. A simple time where there was minimal pollution and the only threat to nature was nature itself. Without humans, nothing would ever go extinct at our hands. There are six advantageous reasons why humans should be eliminated from earth.
Firstly, the earth could return to its former glory with all its creatures and plant life that has since been either greatly lessened or eradicated completely. Since habitat loss is one of the main causes of animal extinction, animals would thrive after the extermination of humans. In other worlds, humans would not be here to expand their metropolises and destroy wild animal habitats without a second thought. Secondly, animals are completely innocent of the doings of humans, so why should they pay the price? Whether it be war or building public works, animals pay an equal if not larger price than humans, and the animals have no choice in the matter. Thirdly, the current rate of animal extinction is 2% a year. This means that by 2020, there will a 67% decrease in the global wildlife populations, which is completely unacceptable. Without humans though, this decrease will stop almost immediately, and all other life forms can live peacefully. Fourthly, air pollution would take a plunge because there would not be any industrial plants running or cars releasing nitrogen oxides or carbon monoxide into the air. Without air pollution, the habitats, food supply, and environments of animals would be cleaner and safer. Fifthly, the horrific amounts of marine debris monopolizing our oceans cannot and will not increase without the help of humans. It is said that there are 46,000 pieces of plastic in every square mile of the ocean. If humans were to continue to inhabit this earth, we would be living on a pile of trash rather than this planet we call earth. Sixthly and lastly, animals would not go extinct anymore. All living creatures, except humans of course, could live the peaceful life they were meant to have. Without humans, there would not be pollution, environmental degradation, or extinction of animals.
Of course, some would say this solution is rather morbid and unnecessary, but I can discredit that argument easily. Without this simple resolution, the earth would, quite frankly, deteriorate. The oceans would turn into large reserves for trash with plastics bottles swimming around like fish. The air would slowly turn darker until the clear blue skies turned to black like coal. And finally, all life excluding humans would die.
To conclude, the animals on this earth are too precious to let go extinct while humans sit idly by. All humans must die so that the earth can be saved, before it is too late. This concept might not be widely accepted, but it is the only plausible solution to this very serious problem. In the end, it will be praised for its outcome.

This is A Modest Proposal written in the style of Dr. Jonathan Swift. I loved his essay when I read it, so I chose to emmulate his style in my essay about humans and their treatment of earth. I am really proud of the way this essay turned out. I hope you enjoy it!
