Last night I dreamt of a prodigy

A woman I had never seen before with short blonde hair like Marilyn Monroe dressed in an emerald green silk gown

She hovered just above the red sea with her mouth hanging wide open as if she was wailing like a banshee

It was dead silent in the groggy night as we stared into each other's souls

A gleam of light glistened beneath the water as if an anglerfish was about to break the surface

Mi Amor! She screamed as she looked directly through me

I whipped around to spot a man sprinting toward me

The black sky caved in on us as he tackled me and the women into the ocean

An explosion of light burst above us when I peered through the murky water

Opening my mouth, I tasted the faintest tint of lemonade in the liquid

The three of us were submerged

I couldn’t hold my breath any longer, I inhaled the thick water into my lungs - I realized I could breath

Our new environment reeked a heinous smell of rotting biscuits

Where are we? I tried to say

Simply the bottom of your subconscious, of course. The women replied

I was flabbergasted. Then why is my subconscious erupting into pieces?

Because you are about to wake up. Would you like to wake up? She questioned

I stared at her for a moment, my thoughts as sharp as a stiletto

Yes. This isn’t a good dream. I began to try and swim away

A hand sunk into the water and reached out for me

I grabbed the wrist and was yanked into Austin's arms

He whispered in my ear

Strangers to friends, friends to lovers, but never strangers again
