Life Eternal
The life expectancy of a human is short compared to that of a high elf. 750 years, less than 100. You do the math.
Love is said to conquer all— but who has proof to say love can make it through an unexpected shortage of one’s life expectancy?
Human or Elf, the brain’s signals will not reach glands that secrete hormones regarding admiration, lust, or love, once one is gone.
Scientifically, love cannot triumph over death.
Love dies with the body. Love dies with the mind.
Sarcophagus’ can symbolize what once was. A shared coffin or neighboring tombstones will not provide love. That feeling of ecstasy. That feeling of euphoria, serotonin. Maybe it could provide a declaration—
but that’s merely an announcement.
Love cannot triumph over death.
