“Dear Kyle,
I know times have been hard, and I know that you are worried about me. It is okay. You should not be afraid. Please, don’t be afraid. You are strong, perhaps the strongest person I have ever met. Your father would be proud of you, he really would. Times change, sadly, and we all have to move on. Hopefully I can see you again soon. I love you Kyle.”

Love,
Mama

“Kyle, get back in here and finish those dishes!” his grandfather demanded.
“Yes sir,” Kyle said.
He walked into the rusty kitchen, with sunlight glaring off of the dust particles that was floating through the air, grabbed the few dishes he had not yet cleaned, and finished with the soggy sponge he had dropped onto the floor. His excitement encouraged himself to finish quickly, and to head to his room. Kyle’s grandparents are very wealthy, in every manner, but tend to not give any attention to him, in a positive way at least.
He quickly grabbed his bag that he had brought into their home, and retreated his way to his place that he stays. Pushing his way through tall grass, he came upon his shack, which was a good ways away from their mansion. He had one way in, and one way out. Kyle found his way to the door and grasped the rusty knob, and walked in, shutting the door behind him. The shack is also his grandparent’s shed. It lays right on the line of the woods, and the back door is the only way out because it is impossible to open the front door from the inside. Kyle throws his bags onto the cot and sits down to untie his shoes, and places them under his bed. Bugs fly in from a small open window from the side of the shack. He hates the bugs because they love the taste of his moist, warm, blood. He thinks to himself, “When did this open..?” Curiously, Kyle grabs a large toolbox to close up the window, and seals it. He sits down onto his cot.
“Tap, tap, tap.” comes from the back door.
Kyle immediately turns and stands.  “Who’s there?” he asks. There is no response. Dead silence is the only presence he can feel. He waits a minute or two, and takes a couple steps towards the back door. He opens it bravely, and peers outside. Nothing is there, except the deep dreamy-looking woods. It goes far back, miles and miles of oak trees, shadows, and animals.
“Ih hahuhah eh huhaha,” whimpering, comes from the front of the shack.
Kyle runs out of the shack and looks around the corner of the shack. He doesn’t see anything so he decides to approach the front. As he slowly walks in the grass along the side of the shack, he nudges his head around the next corner.
“Hello? Whoever this, you can stop it.” he says.
Kyle comes out from the side and stands near the front door. All of a sudden,
“Tap, tap, tap,” comes from the inside of the front door.
He jumps from being startled, and forces the front door open, and sees nothing. Absolutely nothing. He walks in, and closes the front door behind him.
“What the-” Kyle says as he notices a VCR tape on his bed. He walks over to it and picks it up. It reads, “My life.” Interested, and frightened, he grabs his stuff and runs back to the mansion. When he reaches his destination he walks quietly, incognito. He thinks to himself, “There has got to be a VCR laying around here somewhere.” He searches for about 20 minutes and finally found one hidden in one of the dressers downstairs. He inserts the cords and plugs it up. He plays the CD.
“ Hey hey, my boy! Come here you! Ahhh. Gosh Kyle you are getting so big! Happy birthday baby boy. (Kisses Kyle on the forehead. Looks deep into his eyes, and says) I love you so much. Now go back to mommy. Hey Hannah, baby come here! Gah lee how much I have missed you.”
“Aw I have missed you too!” Hannah says with tears rolling down her face.
“Our baby boy, is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen you know tha-”

The tape cuts off.

“No! No no no!” He yells. Tears are bursting in his eyes and roll down his face as if they were rock hard stones.
“That can’t be real!” he takes out the VCR tape and throws it onto the ground.
Kyle immediately runs back to the shack. When he gets there, he yells out,
“WHOEVER YOU ARE, SHOW YOURSELF!”
There is no response, despite the fact of the wind moaning, and the darkness shrouding the sky. He sits down, and waits. He waits for hours. Kyle is so stressed at this point, but decides that it is best he goes to sleep. Awakening, randomly in the middle of the long night, he hears something. He hears whimpering once more. Not just regular whimpering, but the same whimpering he heard earlier. He stops dead in the tracks of his mind. A dark black figure opened up the door and cowardly sauntered inside. Still whimpering it ran its long, skinny fingers down his back, and breathed heavily. Except this feeling, wasn’t conventional.

“Mama?”
