Wisdom Is Overrated
Reaching up past the calm of old age she waded in the dark, ominous waters of solidarity. It had been three searing years since the ground had swallowed him up, stealing him, keeping him away from her. Now she lived alone, in a house built for two, wondering why they did what they did. She yearned for the simple things that never even crossed her mind when he was by her side. When he left she truly realized how overrated the wisdoms of old age were. Wisdom was not knowledge, but the discipline forced upon those who have to suffer endlessly through too long a life. She felt sick at the thought of it all, she could no longer see his face in her dreams nor could she remember even the slightest wisp of what he was like. Her thoughts were stagnant and dreadful, looking forward only to the endless sleep that was not too far ahead.
