Bullying.
Bullying.
To some it's just a name.
Most people don't believe in it,
Which today is such a shame.
I was bullied
so was she
I was bullied for four years
and look where that brought me.
I was called every name in the book
I heard it all, every bit
No one saw it effect me
But eventually it made me sick.
I hid my feelings inside
thinking they would just make it worse,
I figured no one cared
that what's really made it hurt.
I thought I was nothing
that's what they lead me to believe,
I thought that compliments
were impossible to receive.
I remember sitting on the bus
in silence and hurt,
too afraid to speak,
not wanting to be treated like dirt.
Of course I had those people,
the one's who said they'd be there through and through
but sooner or later
they started talking about me too.
I had a best friend,
still have her too.
But she lives kind of far away
so there wasn't much she could do.
Then I hit high school
and I made some awesome friends.
People who, when I'm around,
I seem to just fit in.
Next time you think of hurting someone,
stop and think it through.
Think of how you would feel
if someone wanted to hurt you.
I was lucky.
I found people to help.
But that doesn't mean
those words didn't leave a whelp.
Yes, I opened up to someone,
someone who's intentions were true
But if you would've been there,
could I have opened up to you?
