Pretending
I can feel your prying eyes glaring
And all the others following eyes staring
Its summer outside, but frigid as winter on my skin
All the screeching voices in my head are starting to blend in
Terror gnaws at my insides and wells up in my tears
Curses being spit from mouths so harshly they fall upon my ears
Wincing at the emotion my face has betrayed
I will not be one to rain on my own parade
Inhale deep stand tall and polish a smile
Even if its phony, they'll be fooled for awhile.
