Armor
She woke up from her nightmare, and put on all her armor
Her only protection from a world set out to harm her
Gazed out through the milky dawn and begged it for some help
Cursed her trembling fingers, in loathe of how she felt
Put on her mask of make up and singed her hair to standard of society
Her only way of capturing the illusion of her allegiance to propriety
Skipped breakfast and dragged her bones out the door
Her smile a disguise to elude to turmoil of her internal war
Barely surviving the day, she drifted to the ignorant state of sleeping
Her lullaby is the whisper of her broken dreams weeping
