Real Me
You laugh at me like hyenas in the night
You judge me like you know everything
But you don't
This story is mine
Not yours
You may think you've read me
But you don't understand
You don't know the whole store
As I stand here
An embarrassing tear rolling down my face
As the words sting like angry bees
Stupid, dumb, worthless
All like their own separate sting
All the while I think it's not worth it
This pain
This agony
This torcher
As I stand before you
I take myself away
Never to feel pain again
You stand there paralyzed
Finally you see the real me
I get the kind words
I desperately needed
A little too late
Too late
Too late
Too much hurt
