In the article, “The Oceans Between Us” by Eugenia L., I can relate to Eugenia L.’s struggles against unwarranted stereotyping. As a part of a minority, I face the same struggles as they do on a regular basis. However, I do see the teacher’s side of the story. Minorities tend to flock together, out of comfort and a desire to belong. I just think it’s unjust that she would approach the same group again with the same issue. It is only one of the many incidents minorities, specifically Asians, face on a regular basis. On another note, I found Eugenia L.’s diction to be very powerful and moving. The strong analogy reference portrayed their point across so effortlessly, and I admire that. Thank you for sharing your story Eugenia!
