I Am Not a Freak
“I Am Not a Freak”by Jess F is an insight into something most of us have gone through. Being tormented by our friends and peers because we are different. We are all different in our own ways, whether it is the color of our skin, our religion, our beliefs. That is nothing to be humiliated about. Jess is a vegetarian and wants to save the earth, and I can relate to her because I am that way too.Jess, every other teen in America, and I have a right to feel safe about doing and believing what they want. I hope everyone can feel the way Jess did, the feeling of satisfaction you get from not letting anyone hurt you. When she says “I am not a freak” at the end, I think she is trying to tell the people who tried to hurt her that she will ignore it, and not change herself to be what other people want and expect.
