Suffering
Being old enough to understand that people die is hard, but watching it happen is even harder. I have had a similar experience in watching my grandfather age rapidly. He was an active man who was quite capable of anything he needed. After his countless strokes, he began to become less independent. As the author’s father looked extremely different within a year, my grandfather also looked so different than he did before his problems. Becoming old and dying is part of life, but it is the one part that everyone is afraid to witness. Being there to support your loved ones in their last times on Earth are important memories to have and cherish forever.
